Cafe on the Bay's Sunday Brunch Buffet will leave you filled up, happy and smiling!

Cafe on the Bay is an upscale dining experience in a gorgeous indoor dining room and outdoor garden patio setting on the north end of Longboat Key. I like to treat myself to Sunday brunch once in a while and this spot quickly became my favorite from the first time I had brunch there. In fact, it was so good that I didn’t “investigate” further the Sunday Brunch scene around the area. I have, however, asked around about restaurants in Sarasota to find out about the Sunday Brunch scene.

Cafe on the Bay offers a true Sunday Brunch Buffet, as opposed to some other area establishments that call theirs a Sunday Brunch, but in reality you only get to select one choice from a menu. That’s not a "brunch" to my way of thinking. There is a difference in selecting from a menu or having a buffet from which to select. I prefer the buffet. My experiences here have been with family and friends, who also have found the brunch experience here delicious, relaxing and casual. No one is in a hurry to leave all the delightful buffet delicacies. In fact, I’ll bet that you’ll walk away less than comfortable due to that one “last serving” you’ll have to help yourself to! If you’re like me, it’ll be one bite too much! But that’s part of the fun of going out for a Sunday Brunch Buffet!

The brunch selection of wonderful delights includes:

Breakfast menu items: Eggs Benedict, Bacon and Sausage, Biscuits and Gravy, Potato Pancakes, Muffins, Bagels and Fresh Fruit.

There’s also an omelet station, where a chef will custom create one especially for you.

Lunch menu items include: Cheese Blintzes and delicious Chicken Florentine Crepes.

The Seafood and Salad table has: Smoked Salmon and Oysters, Sliced Tuna, a delicious cold Shrimp Salad, Crab Legs, Pickled & Creamed Herring, and Artichoke Salad.

There’s also a Desserts and Pastries table.

In fact there’s more than enough to satisfy and delight and it should be illegal to eat so many good things in one sitting!

With their dinner entrée prices ranging from $21 to $36, the Sunday All You Can Eat Brunch price of $24.95, including a free Mimosa and unlimited coffee, tea and fresh squeezed orange juice, seems like a real steal! Brunch takes place from 10 a.m.– 2 p.m.

Cafe on the Bay is one of my favorite Sarasota dining experiences for their terrific Sunday All You Can Eat Brunch Buffet.

The trip from Sarasota to the restaurant is also a nice scenic drive along the Gulf of Mexico and after brunch you might want to go for a walk on the nearby and beautiful Whitney Beach on north Longboat Key.

Directions: If you’re going to Cafe on the Bay from Sarasota or near downtown Sarasota, take Rt. 41 over the Ringling Bridge, following S.R. 789 north-northwest around St. Armand’s Circle, across the bridge to Longboat Key. Then simply drive north on Gulf of Mexico Drive to the north side of Longboat Key.

Cafe on the Bay is located less than a mile north of the Hilton Hotel, on the bay side of Gulf of Mexico Drive in the Centre Shops, where there’s usually plenty of free parking. 5350 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key.

I've never made reservations for brunch and have never had trouble getting seated, however, if you're here from out of town, I would recommend reservations, especially during "high season," just in case - (941) 383-0440
