I Miss Sarasota

by Tricia
(Westport, CT)

I can recall the magical powers of Sarasota, one of nature's finest creations. The finest beaches, warm sun and powdery white sand. The long walks on Siesta Key beach watching the gulls fly up above with the waves crashing at my feet or the soft wet sand sinking underneath my toes. The perfect end to a day walking along the water of the beach listening to the birds, and watching the magnificent sunsets.

Sarasota is the love of my life. Whether spending the time alone or together with friends, one never needs to feel they are really alone, not when they are in Sarasota, with all that it has to offer.

The warm weather, the palm trees swaying in the breeze on a warm summers' night while sitting in St. Armand's Key having coffee enjoying the summer air filled with all the wonderful sensations and smells of the restaurants and shops in the circle of St. Armand's.

I also met Woody Harrelson in Sarasota near the Gator Club, while he was filming the movie "Palmetto."

And now, I have been trying to make my way back to Sarasota and need to find a full time job there first as an Administrative Receptionist (From New York / Connecticut). I would love to work in either a Domestic Violence, Children's protection or court / government, or health care environment, because I have experience in these areas.

If anyone can help please email me at: Casey111158@aol.com

Thank you,
Heidi-T

We named our place 'Siesta Villa' after Siesta Key!

by Scott
(Boston/Sarasota)

My parents purchased a home and settled in Sarasota about eight years ago.

After several visits, my wife and I decided to buy a 'villa' - as we fell in love with the place...

Why?

Well, let's see - Siesta Key of course - nothing like an afternoon on Turtle Beach followed by dinner at Ophelia's ON the intra-coastal waterway.

We also love watching the sunset from O'Leary's Tiki Bar at Bayfront Park and Christopher's Bar on Lido Key.

The dining and cultural options are outstanding for any city - but really impressive due to Sarasota's relatively small size!

Great restaurants and world-class cultural and entertainment options abound; there's Marie Selby botanical gardens, the Ringling Museum, and ballet, opera, classical music and theater venues to suit any taste. Not to mention great jazz, as well as spring training baseball and winter polo for sports enthusiasts.

The area features plenty of shopping, hotel options and a great downtown district just off the bay - and St. Armand's circle is great for shopping, dining or just plain wandering.

In short, Sarasota's got it all - that's why we decided to buy there!
