JANUARY SIESTA KEY ACTIVITIES

January 5 - 6, 2011: Siesta Keys Beach Snowbird Fine Arts & Crafts Show. The show features artists and craftspeople from around the U.S. and Canada. Wed: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m, Thurs, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the beach ball field. Free parking and admission.

FEBRUARY

February 14, 2011: Valentines Day at the Beach – Renew your wedding vows - open to all, but you must pre-register by February 12 by calling (941) 861-7275. Siesta Key Public Beach near the Pavilion - Beach Road

MARCH

APRIL SIESTA KEY ACTIVITIES

April 23, 2011: is the 11th Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Games on Siesta Key. For tots only ages 1 - 6. For $10 each, each child receives an Easter Bunny or Stuffed Toy, Goody Bag and Easter Egg stuffed with prizes. It takes place at Beach Access Point #5 at Beach Road and Ocean Blvd. Face painters, opportunities to ride the trolley, tour the Siesta Key ambulance and fire truck and participate in other fun family entertainment. Registration is limited to first 125 paid children. For additional information: 941-349-2770 x 227.

April 24, 2011 - Easter Sunrise Service - 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. at Siesta Key Beach near the pavilion.

April 30 - May 1, 2011 – The 32nd Annual Siesta Fiesta – Siesta Key Village - Ocean Boulevard. Click here for more on Siesta Fiesta.

MAY

May 8, 2011: The Annual Siesta Key Sand Sculpture Contest - 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Siesta Key Public Beach - Beach Road - For more on the Sand Sculpting Contest click this link.

JUNE
Summer Beach Runs begin June 8, 2010 and take place every Tuesday evening on Siesta Key Public Beach. One mile beach runs start at 6:30 p.m. and adult runs start at 7 p.m. Registration is at the beach pavilion.

JULY

July 4, 2011: Fireworks over Siesta Key - just north of Siesta Key Beach’s volleyball courts - Watch from land, sea or the Intracoastal Waterway

OCTOBER

October 16 - 17, 2010: the East End Volley Ball Tournaments On Siesta Key Public Beach.

NOVEMBER SIESTA KEY ACTIVITIES

November 15 - 21, 2010: The first ever Siesta Key Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Competition. Twenty Master Sculptors from across the U.S. will compete in paired teams for over $25,000 in prize money. Other events connected to the competition will take place Fri-Sat-Sun 11/19/10 - 11/21/10. Those activities, including food and retail vendors, will be south of the Siesta Key Public Beach pavilion and will include live bands on Saturday and Sunday and free sand sculpting lessons and an amateur event on Sunday 11/21/10 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. (registration ends at 8:30 a.m.) Amateur categories: Sea Turtle Division: Children Up to age 8 (maximum 6 per team), Dolphins Division: Children 9 to 12 years (maximum 6 per team), Sea Horses Division: Families/Groups (maximum 6 per team), Sharks Division: Businesses (maximum 6 per team), Rays Division: Solo 13 to 17 years and Manatees Division: Solo Adult above 18 years. The master sculptures will be visible along the beach, but for close up viewing of artists at work wrist bands will be available for purchase for $5 per person, $10 per family. Shuttles will run from Phillippi Estate park to Siesta Beach to ease parking. More at Siesta Key Sand Sculpting Competition.

November 27, 2010: Holiday Light up the Village - Siesta Key Village - Ocean Boulevard - The Siesta Village Holiday Stroll & Open House will be located at the Siesta Center.
