Here is my list of the more popular Siesta Key Activities throughout the year....There's much to do and there is always something going on whether in the village or at the beaches...you can always find your fun in the sun!

February 14, 2017: It may not be quite the Tennessee Bird Walk but the Siesta Village Valentine Stroll offers free candy kisses and Valentine Cheer along with live music throughout the Village. Participating merchants will be displaying red and pink balloons outside of their businesses.. Free admission. 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Siesta Key Village. You can hop a free trolley ride from the parking lot at Siesta Key Public Beach to Siesta Village from 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. More information here.

February 14, 2017: Celebrate Valentines Day at the Beach with love and romance: Renew your wedding vows and say “I Do” all over again on Siesta Key Beach in a non-denominational service. Couples of all ages and length of marriage gather for the annual group renewal of vows at the Siesta Beach Pavilion, presided over by a Sarasota judicial magistrate. Event begins at 5 p.m. but couples are encouraged to arrive as early as 4:30 p.m. to check in. It’s a tradition that dates to 1989 and it’s open to all, but you must pre-register by Feb. 10. Call 941-861-5000. There's a $10 per couple fee and includes a certificate, commemorative gift, flower, music on the beach and light refreshments. February 25 - 26, 2017: You'll enjoy the 23rd Annual Siesta Key Craft Festival. Everything from folk art, handmade jewelry, pottery, paintings and more! Surely you can find a unique item for your home. Located off Ocean Blvd in Siesta Key Village from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days. The Fair is a tradition and draws a huge crowd. Free Admission.

April Activities

April 1, 2017: It's the 31st Annual Run/walk for the Turtles sponsored by Mote Marine on Siesta Key Public Beach. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Siesta Key Gazebo south of the pavilion. The one-mile fun run or walk begins at 7:30 a.m. The 5-K Run begins at 8 a.m. The entry fee benefits the Sea Turtle Conservation and Research Program at Mote Marine Laboratory. 388-4441 xt 357. April 15, 2017: Bring the little ones to the Siesta Key Children's Easter Party for ages 1 - 6 at Turtle Beach. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt, Games and Prizes, Fun Activities and the Sheriffs Mounted Patrol. Bring your own Easter Basket. Registration is required. Limited to 150 children. $10 per child fee. Registration deadline is April 7. Event time: 9 a.m. - noon at Turtle Beach, 8918 Midnight Pass Road. Click here to register.

April 16, 2017: Easter Sunrise Service - Pine Shores Presbyterian Church hosts sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. at Siesta Key Beach near the pavilion. Bring a beach chair or blanket. April Siesta Key Activities

April 22 - 23, 2017: It's the Volley America Spalding King of the Beach Big Shot Volleyball  Tournament featuring 25 nets, open men, women, juniors and collegiate levels. Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday starts at 9 a.m. Siesta Key Beach volley ball area. Beach Rd., Siesta Key. Click here for more info.

May 20 - 21, 2017: Can you dig it? It's the Dig The Beach - Siesta Key Volley Ball Classic bouncing in for the weekend. It's fun in the sun and sand with competition starting at 8:30 a.m. You're sure to see some great volleyball action. Siesta Key public beach volleyball courts. June Activities

June 7 - August 10, 2016: The Kids Summer Beach Runs are 1-mile beach runs held every Tuesday (through Aug. 9) at Siesta Beach on Siesta Key near the pavilion, and every Wednesday (through Aug. 10) at Brohard Beach (1600 Harbor Drive) next to the Venice Fishing Pier, Venice. Registration at each location begins at 5:30 p.m. and the beach run starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. There's a one-time $1 registration fee. The runs are a popular summer event combining exercise and fun. More at 941-861-5000.

July Siesta Key Activities

July 4, 2017: Watch from land, sea or the Intracoastal Waterway. The 27th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Display over Siesta Key are blasted off just north of the volleyball courts, so viewing is good from anywhere south and along Crescent Beach (south of Siesta Public Beach), out on the Gulf, or from the Intracoastal waterway. Good weather brings estimates of 20,000 to 30,000 to the fireworks on Siesta Key. More info: (941) 349-3800. Siesta Key Activities on Escape-to-Sarasota

October Activities

October 31, 2017: Bring your little ghosts and goblins for a Safe Treats Halloween in Siesta Key Village. Look for participating members displaying orange and black balloons and pumpkin flyers in their windows in Siesta Village along Ocean Blvd. and the surrounding streets. Free. 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

November Siesta Key Activities

November 11- 15, 2016: The 7th Annual Siesta Key Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Competition. Master Sculptors from across the U.S. will compete in paired teams for over $25,000 in prize money. 10 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. $5 for Children 5 - 17; $10 for 18 years and older. Children under 5 are free.  ATM ON SITE. $8 per day for Active and Retired Military Personnel and Seniors (age 65 and up).  More at Siesta Key Master Sand Sculpting Competition.

November 26, 2016: It's the annual Light Up Siesta Key Village Parade and Holiday Open House where the festivities take place from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. The event features a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and Santa will arrive by fire truck following the parade at approximately 6:15 pm. Santa will greet all children with the first 250 to see him receiving gift bags donated by Beach Bazaar. At Santa’s Village there will also be a clown, face painting and games with prizes. Photos may be taken with Santa and there will also be live musical entertainment by the Pine View High School Jazz Band, Keyboard Players and choirs singing holiday songs.Free Trolley Rides from Siesta Key Public Beach to Siesta Village from 5:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Escape-to-Sarasota

Siesta's Farmers Market - Every Sunday from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. 5124 Ocean Blvd. Davidson's Plaza.

The Siesta Key Beach Drum Circle
The drums beat and people dance every Sunday evening on Siesta Key Beach. It takes place about an hour before sunset, just south of the main pavilion on Siesta Public Beach. Listen for the drums and follow the crowd. Bring your chair or beach blanket and refreshments. Even bring your own drum and play along!
