Our December Sarasota Events Calendar includes the best list of Sarasota happenings and fun things to do around the sun coast.

December 1, 2023: It's the fourth annual UTC Festival of Trees, a showcase and silent auction of whimsical trees decorated by local charities. Stroll the upper level of the Mall at UTC to explore 40 trees celebrating charities throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. Admission is free. Vote for your favorite trees and bid in the online silent auction for a chance to take a tree home after the showcase concludes on Dec 17. All of the money raised will benefit each participating charity. The Festival of Trees is located inside the Mall at UTC and available for viewing December 1 through December 17 during mall hours. December 1, 2023: Check out Jazz at Two featuring Eddie Tobin and Friends. Enjoy Sarasota & Club favorite, Eddie Tobin, one of the most entertaining, versatile performers in the area. Affectionately called the "lounge lizard", his concerts feature a mix of jazz, pop favorites, music from the American songbook & maybe a bit of Ray Charles. Admission $15-$20 at the door. December 1, 2023: Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources is hosting another food truck rally at North Jetty Park! Come out for this free family friendly event. December 1, 2023: It's downtown Sarasota's Fresh Fridays with a Frosty The Snowman theme and featuring a holiday showcase with carolers, seasonal treats, lights and snow globe photo booth and more. 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Selby Five Points Park, 1 Central Avenue, Sarasota, FL.

December 1, 2023:  Lakewood Ranch presents The Holiday Tree Lighting and Music on Main from 5:30 p.m.- 9 p.m.; a free concert and block party. Light up the holiday tree on Main Street from 5:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. and then enjoy Shell and the Crabs filling the air with the best classics and unforgettable originals and the event will benefit Children First. Santa himself will be at Main Street, taking photos at the Christmas tree, spreading loads of Christmas cheer and sharing that all familiar laugh. The street is lined with food vendors, beer trucks, and sponsor booths, as well as rides and activities for the kids. Guests are welcome to bring chairs, but please leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short leash. Free admission. Overflow parking is available at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. December 1, 2023: t's the 45th Annual Holiday Night of Lights on St. Armand's Circle. Holiday Night of Lights” is St. Armand's official “kick off” to the holiday season. The event begins with a special performance at 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Join in with their annual Christmas Carol Sing-a-long beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by “Santa’s Arrival” and the tree lighting ceremony of a 60' tall Christmas Tree. December 1 - 2, 2023: Celebrate the holiday season with the return of Palmetto’s Christmas in the Park at the Palmetto Historical Park & Manatee County Agricultural Museum. Enjoy the grounds where there will be activities including reindeer games and crafts. All of the buildings will be decorated and open to visitors. Tickets will be required to attend the event whether you have an additional reservation with Santa or not. If you would like to attend the event only and not see Santa, reserve your event tickets starting November 14th through our website, Santa Claus: There will be appointment slots every 5 minutes and to reserve a spot with Santa (up to 10 people per slot), you will need to call the Manatee County Agricultural Museum at 941-721-2034 on November 14, 2023 beginning at 8:00 a.m..They will be taking reservations in the order that they are received and this will automatically register you for general event tickets as well. December 1 - 2, 2023: Check out the Outdoor Holiday Market at The Mall at UTC. The two-day event will feature 150+ vendors selling handmade and unique holiday gifts, food trucks and more! The market will be open on Friday, December 1st from 4 - 9 pm and Saturday, December 2nd from 11 am - 5 pm. Free entry and parking. Pets are allowed (leashed). Parking lot 4. December 1 - 2, 2023: Being discontinued in 2024. The 11th Annual Bradenton Blues Fest will take place at the Bradenton Riverwalk Pavilion at Rossi Park with an outstanding line up of 9 top blues talents. In addition to amazing music, you can purchase local craft beer and wine, delicious food, and cool festival merchandise. Various ticket prices and arrangements starting at $20. Music starts Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday music begins at 11 a.m. and goes to 8 p.m. The Bradenton Blues Festival takes place at the Bradenton Riverwalk Pavilion at Rossi Park. 452 3rd Ave W, Bradenton, FL

December 1 - 3, 2023: Enjoy warm gulf breezes, fresh seafood and live musical performances at America’s #1 beach at the 5th annual Siesta Beach Seafood & Music Festival. Enjoy the best and freshest cooked foods by local restaurants and food purveyors. Foods are cooked on-site using such ingredients as grouper, mahi mahi, stone crabs, oysters, shrimp and soft-shell crabs. A variety of vegetarian and rice dishes are available as well as non-seafood items. Live music, too: While savoring your meal, relax to some of Florida’s top musical groups from genres such as R&B, blues, jazz, rock and Caribbean sounds. December 1, 3, 2023: Kick off the Christmas season with the Sarasota Baptist Church at their Sarasota Christmas Festival on December 1st and 3rd! Come and enjoy live music by the outdoor Christmas tree (bring a lawn chair, limited seating provided) and a Christmas village with food, photo areas, petting zoo, hot chocolate, kids crafts, and some surprises! December 1 - 3, 2023: You're invited to the Singing Christmas Tree Spectacular to enjoy the wonder of Christmas. Presented by the First Sarasota Downtown Baptist Church, The Singing Christmas Tree, some 25 feet tall, sporting over 10,000 lights with 12 levels that hold 115 choir members, is a music and drama production written & directed by church members and accompanied by an orchestra featuring songs of the Christmas Season and stunning pageantry. December 1 - 6, 2023: Come to Ever Green Days at The Bay, Sarasota’s newest signature park and blue-and-green oasis along Sarasota Bay. December 1 - 10, 2023: Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida is excited to present their 15th Annual Gingerbread Festival taking place at University Town Center.  Feast your eyes on 100+ gingerbread houses crafted by local schools & organizations. 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Free admission. December 1 - 17, 2023: The Sarasota Players gets holly, jolly with A Tuna Christmas. The play is both an affectionate commentary and withering satire of small-town Southern life and attitudes and is sure to strike a chord with any theatre-goer. It’s Christmas in the third-smallest town in Texas. Radio station news personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on various Yuletide activities, including the hot competition in the annual lawn-display contest. In other news, voracious Joe Bob Lipsey’s production of A Christmas Carol is jeopardized by unpaid electric bills. Warnings: Adult language/Content. Various shows times, dates and ticket prices. December 1 - 21, 2023: Take a ride on the North Pole Express, a 35 minute ride from Parrish, FL to the North Pole. Upon arrival, everyone will detrain at our special North Pole station where Santa awaits to visit with every child. During your stay a variety of entertainment, activities, camp fires and all the hot chocolate and cookies you care to eat are included with every train ticket. December 1 - 31, 2023: It's the annual “FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS,” a display of more than ONE MILLION LIGHTS and themed decorations at Fisherman's Village. 1200 W. Retta Esplanade Punta Gorda, FL. December 1, 2023 - January 2, 2024: It's time to lace up your skates for some wintertime fun at UTC. The Rink at UTC, presented by the Tampa Bay Lightning, opened November 11th and will run daily through January 2nd.Mon - Fri 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. Saturday & Sunday: 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. School holidays: 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. The Rink is located in the East District at UTC.. December 2, 2023: It's the 26th Annual Jingle & Jog 5K Run/Walk in support of The Haven to benefit people of all ages with disabilities. Registration includes race t-shirt, food, refreshments and swag bag. Starting at The Haven’s beautiful campus nestled on 32-acres of lush Florida scenery, participants will experience a smooth course under the canopy of oak trees. Registration: $35. December 2, 2023: It's the 3rd Annual BEER Mile on Friday Night (12/1/23), a fun filled pre-race night to Saturday December 2, 2023 Fifth Annual Braves Tomahawk 5K, Run a quick 1 mile around the concourse of Cool Today Park! December 2, 2023: It's the North Port Poinsettia Parade.  The Poinsettia Parade will start at 5 p.m. and march south down Sumter Boulevard from Sylvania Avenue through the City Center Campus, ending at the Festival (a prime location to catch the parade). This year's theme is "North Port Holidays Around the World." Floats adorned with poinsettias, decorated vehicles, and escorted by North Port Fire Rescue, Jolly Ole St. Nick will make a special appearance in the parade. The parade will end at the annual Poinsettia Festival. The Festival will include a tree lighting ceremony and will take place throughout the grounds of the City Center Campus, including on the Front Green and inside City Hall. This fun-filled holiday festival will also feature food vendors, entertainment, attractions and much more. 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. City Center Campus 4970 City Hall Blvd, North Port, FL.

December 2, 2023: It's the Annual Christmas Jeep Parade put on by the Sarasota and Bradenton Jeep Clubs. Be sure to deck out your Jeep with your favorite lights and decorations - the more the merrier! They'll meet at De Soto Square Mall in Bradenton starting at 5 p.m. The convoy will pull out at 7 pm. The route includes Bradenton, Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, St. Armand's Circle and Siesta Key. Meet at DeSoto Square Mall in Bradenton, 5 p.m.  De Soto Square Mall, 303 301 Blvd W, Bradenton, FL.

December 2, 2023: The Venice Christmas Boat Parade starts at 6 p.m. (rain date is the next day) along the Intracoastal Waterway in Venice starting at the Albee Road Bridge in Nokomis and moving south along the waterway with turnaround before the Circus Bridge in Venice. Spectators line the north (at South Nokomis Beach) and south (at North Venice Beach) jetties and throughout the downtown and Venice waterfront areas to the judging area near the south Circus Bridge for a view of the brightly lit and colorfully decorated “Christmas Boats.” 6 p.m. Admission is free. December 2, 2023:Bradenton Beach Marina will present the 5th Annual Bradenton Beach Holiday Boat Parade. Boat owners are invited to show off their holiday spirit and their beautifully lit vessels in a Parade along the Intracoastal Waterway. View the annual boat parade from Bradenton Beach Marina’s Paddle Boat or from the Bradenton Beach pier. Vessels in the parade will gather near the south end of Jewfish Key. The parade will head northwest along the Longboat Pass Bridge and then north in the Intracoastal Waterway. The parade will pass alongside the Bradenton Beach City Pier and end at the Bradenton Beach Marina. Starts at 6 p.m. Free. Bradenton Beach, Anna Maria Island. 941-778-2288.

December 2, 2023: Enjoy the 11th annual Holiday Boat Parade at Jiggs Landing Preserve, on the Ever's Reservoir and Braden River, launch your boat at the public boat ramp. The colorful parade gets going at dark as they parade past Jiggs Landing, They pass "The Heights" on the reservoir and head upstream past Mote Ranch, Marineland and continue on to Linger Lodge. December 2, 2023: The 27th Annual Sarasota Holiday Parade takes place in downtown Sarasota on the first Saturday evening of December. With thousands participating and even more thousands viewing, the parade kicks off at 7 p.m. with decorated floats, live marching bands and the guest of honor "rounding" out the parade, Santa Claus. December 2 - 3, 2023: Explore solutions to go green at the Green Living Expo. Demo and buy sustainable products and services from green businesses and non-profit organizations. Get involved and get hands on with opportunities to volunteer and help solve local environmental issues. It’s a two-day trade-show loaded with ideas and demos about how to reduce our impacts on the environment. Register for free tickets. December 2 - 3, 2023: Enjoy Wintergreen Weekend at the Point: A Victorian Family Holiday.  Kick off the holiday season with festive, time-honored traditions at our scenic Historic Spanish Point campus. Join us for “reindeer” pony rides, holiday storytelling, handbell performances, and more! Admission is free for Selby Gardens members and included with general admission. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Member guests $11, Adults $26, Ages 5-17 $11, Age 4 and under Free. December 2 - 3, 2023: It's Lakewood Ranch's Holiday of the Arts! Enjoy browsing and purchasing fine arts and crafts from a fascinating and diverse palette of original, handmade arts, crafts and specialty products by artisans from across America. Art are pieces created in painting, sculpting, jewelry, photography, candles, scented oils, ceramics, fiber and wearable art, mixed-media, woodworking and much more. December 2 - 3, 2023: Come one, come all and check out The SunCoast Renaissance Festival, a recreation of a Renaissance or Medieval village that's filled with costumed actors, crafts and games to give you the illusion that you have stepped back in time.100’s of performances plus craftspeople and more. December 2 - 3, 2023: The 5th annual Jingle Jam event takes place at CoolToday Park. Holiday Market, Horse and Carriage Rides, Kids’ Crafts and Activities, Family events and contests, Holiday themed carnival games, Live music, Appearances by Santa & Mrs. Claus, visit from Coca-Cola Caravan (Sat. December 3, 2023: You're invited to Gamble Plantation Historic State Park's Christmas Open House. You can travel back to the Old South during the day through the many lifestyle demonstrations of that time. Gamble Mansion will be lavishly decorated in the Christmas spirit, allowing you a special look at a 19th century Christmas. The Ladies of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will be wearing costumes reminiscent of the era of the 1840’s through 1870’s to add that special touch of authenticity to the day. December 3, 2023: It's the the 2nd Annual Holiday Vendor & Craft Fair in Venice with vendors, crafts, art, food trucks & more! Come out and enjoy this family fun event! 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Maxine Barritt Park from 10am-3pm. 1800 Harbor Dr. S. Venice. FL.

December 3, 2023: You are invited to the 17th anniversary of their signature "Bowls of Hope" event at Ed Smith Stadium. Each year more than 1,500 guests attend one of the community’s largest and most popular family-friendly events where 40 of our community’s finest restaurants and caterers serve delicious soups, bread, desserts, and more. Guests select beautiful handcrafted bowls to keep, all donated by local potters, artists, and students while enjoying a modest meal as a reminder of the empty bowls they help to fill. 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Ed Smith Stadium, 2700 12th St, Sarasota, FL. December 3, 2023: The Sarasota Garden Club Presents Holiday in the Gardens where you can dance and enjoy music from all genres to present while sitting in a beautiful garden setting or strolling the the beautiful gardens. December 4, 2023:  Join the Venice Concert Band for the Holidays. The concert theme is Holiday Celebrations as the Venice Concert Band performs many of the traditional sounds of the season. The band will get your holiday season started with some joyous sounds as they present old classics as well as new arrangements to fill your hearts with the Hanukkah and Christmas spirits. Tickets will be available for this performance November 20, 2023. December 5 - 8, 2023: Reserve your spot for a special holiday tour at the Palmetto Historical Park & Manatee County Agricultural Museum. Start your guided tour in the Palmetto Historical Park’s Carnegie Library and learn about the history of Palmetto while enjoying the beautiful decorations throughout each building in the park. You will continue your tour through the Manatee County Agricultural Museum which highlights the agricultural heritage of Manatee County. December 14, 2023: Join Fisherman's Village for the holiday celebration of Chanukah for the lighting of the Menorah in front of the main entrance to Fishermen’s Village. Each night an additional light is kindled until the Menorah is ablaze with eight beautiful lights in celebration of Chanukah. The message of the menorah is a universal one, expressing the importance of bringing g light, warmth and holiness to the darkest places. December 15, 2023: TONIGHT'S (FRIDAY, DEC. 15) SIDEWALK ASTRONOMY OBSERVING AT THE BISHOP MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND NATURE IS CANCELLED DUE TO THIS EVENING'S WEATHER CONDITIONSCheck out some heavenly bodies during Sidewalk Astronomy courtesy of the local group of Deep Sky Observers at the Bishop Planetarium in downtown Bradenton on FRIDAY, December 15th starting a little after 5:30 p.m. (weather permitting). Telescopes will be set up in the courtyard on the north (river) side of the museum, as well as along the sidewalks on BOTH sides of 10th Street West. But that’s not all! There will be food vendors set up during the event as the Bishop has partnered with the FEWD Taco Tent and the Edible Cookie Dough Café for you to enjoy a bite to eat while observing the universe. Drinks, including beer, wine, soda, and water, will be available for purchase. December 25, 2023: The annual Pinecraft Christmas Parade usually draws over 1,000 spectators to this Sarasota Amish and Mennonite Community for the parade, traditionally held on Christmas afternoon, winding through the neighborhood streets. Started by local resident Mike Miller in 1999, it's the biggest event of the year in the neighborhood. Assemble in parking lot at Der Dutchman restaurant, 3713 Bahia Vista Street, beginning at 1:00 p.m. or right soon after lunch.
