October 1, 2021: Canceled for 2021 TFN. Lakewood Ranch presents Music on Main the first Friday of each month from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. Live music, beer, wine and food available. Live music and the deejay will keep you dancing with today’s Top 100 hits. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. October 2 - 3, 2021: It's the 26th Annual Downtown Sarasota Craft Festival. Held in downtown Sarasota at Orange and Main Street.  A variety of jewelry, pottery, ceramics, photography, painting, clothing and much more. An expansive Green Market with plants, orchids, exotic flora, handmade soaps, gourmet spices and freshly popped kettle corn further compliments the weekend. October 2 - 3, 2021: The 33rd Annual Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Fest features hay rides, pony rides, pumpkin painting, face painting, mini train rides, a petting zoo and more. Lots of Halloween decorations for sale, too, from scarecrows to hay bales. Admission, Parking, Petting zoo, playground, live music, and decorated photo spots are FREE! Individual rides and game activity booth, including pony rides, unicorn encounter, hug a goat and pumpkin painting, has their own set price ranging from $1 – $10. Children’s Costume Contest every Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in front of the animal barn and free to participate in October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th at 2:00 p.m. Food available for purchase at Food Truck Rally. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Additional dates: Oct 9 - 10, Oct 16 - 17, Oct  23 - 24 and Oct. 30 - 31. October 2 - November 30, 2020: For the third year in a row a Hay Maze for little kids has been built to help celebrate the Halloween and Thanksgiving season. There are 420 bales of hay going into the maze, which will be 42 feet wide and 54 feet long, twice as big as last year’s maze. Location: adjacent to the Ronald A. Balducci Playground and Event Garden on Nathan Benderson Park's north end. The playground is at the corner of World Championship Drive and North Cattlemen Road. Free. October 3, 2021: It's time for the Old Miakka Fall Hootenanny which will feature Silent Auction, Vendor Booths, Family Fun and more. It benefits the restoration of the old school house. One of the musical acts will be The Dunn Deal. October 4, 2020: TBA for 2021. You can enjoy Sarasota's own Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Team and their Sunday afternoon show at 2 p.m. at Ski-A-Ree Stadium. October 5, 2019: TBD for 2021.  Oompa! Enjoy and take part in the MBG 5th Annual Oktoberfest. Come dressed in your best dirndl or lederhosen and as always you get to keep your liter stein with your purchase of your favorite German beer. October 6, 2021: It's the first Atlanta Braves Farmer's Market of this season. Event is held right here at CoolToday Park's parking lot, and will be socially-distanced. 8 a.m. - 12 noon. Wednesdays, October - March. CoolToday Park, 18800 South, W Villages Pkwy, Venice, FL

October 6, 2021: The Phillippi Farmhouse Market is back and it features locally grown fruits and vegetables, including local USDA certified organic produce and hydroponics. There will be plants, herbs, hanging baskets, shrubs and cut flowers for sale along with a wide variety of locally baked goods, delicious barbecue, plenty of food and beverage vendors, arts and crafts, soaps and candles and always live music. 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. every Wednesday, October through April. 5500 S. October 7, 2021: Check out Ringling Underground with local and regional live music in the museum courtyard while up and coming artists showcase their works also in the museum courtyard. 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. Admission: $15. October 7 - 11, 2020: TBA for 2021. Celebrate Oktoberfest at Edelweiss in Bradenton with a large, open air beer tent with seating and live entertainment, Oktoberfest food, contests & prizes and German beer. Held in the restaurant's parking lot and beer garden, there will be temperature checks upon arrival, increased sanitizing and groups larger than 10 will have to sit at separate tables and there will be capacity limits outside. October 8, 2021: It's the Free Music Friday Night Concert featuring the North Jetty Allstars. Enjoy the music and fun in downtown's Centennial Park. Free and open to the public.7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Bring your lawn chair or blanket for seating. COVID-19 safety plan is in place! They are asking family and friend groups to limit to a maximum of 6 people sitting together or less. Attendees are REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK during the entire concert. October 9, 2020: TBA for 2021. Put on your lederhosen because it's Oktoberfest Beer Walk in downtown Venice from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m..Attendees will receive a small sampling stein and get to sample a variety of brews in 3-ounce tastings, as they follow a map of beer-tasting locations.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance online at www.visitvenicefl.org; at the Venice MainStreet office at 101 W. Venice Ave., Suite 23; or purchased the day of the event at 5:00pm at the kiosk in Centennial Park. Attendees will be able to pick up their stein and map at the kiosk at 5:00 p.m. when the event begins.

October 9, 2021: The 15th Annual UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County Master Gardener Plant Sale offers visitors the chance to purchase beautiful plants and consult with Master Gardener volunteers on plant selection, gardening tips, and other plant and pest questions. October 9, 2021:  Sun Coast Jaguar Club of Florida is hosting the 35th Annual Festival d'Elegance on St. Armand's Key in St. Armand's Circle Park. All Jaguar Vehicles are welcome to participate. The event is free and open to the public. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. St. Armand's Circle, Sarasota, FL.

October 9, 2021: TBA for 2021. Check out some heavenly bodies during Sidewalk Astronomy courtesy of the local group of Deep Sky Observers. Telescopes will be up and available for public viewing from sunset. - 10 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (weather permitting). October 9, 2021: It's Donte's Den Top Dog 2021, The Crystal Ball." It's a one of a kind dog show where you can meet other dog lovers and enjoy your day while also showing your love and support. Bring your canine companion and enjoy dinner, cocktails and an unforgettable dog show. There will be categories like Best Kiss, Best Dressed, Top Dog. October 10, 2020: Sarasota County has elected not to hold this event in 2020.The Orioles invite families to wear their favorite Halloween costumes for the fifth annual Howl-O-Ween Movie Night Spooktacular which includes children's games, activities and photo opportunities with the Oriole Bird beginning at 5:00 p.m. and a free evening of fun including a family-friendly movie. At 7:00 p.m. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (rated PG) will be screened on the outfield video board. Guests may choose any seat in the ballpark to enjoy the movie. Ongoing ball field renovations will prevent on-field access. Parking and admission are free. Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for All Faith's Food Bank. OneBlood will conduct blood donations, and donors will receive a free, Halloween-themed T-shirt and a movie ticket voucher. Concessions will be available for purchase. No coolers or outside food allowed, however, sealed plastic bottles of water are permitted. Parking is available in the East Lot. Enter the ballpark through the left field gate. October 10 to November 29, 2020: It's The 45th Anniversary Orchid Show at Selby Gardens, honoring founder Marie Selby and the many notable women who have built on her legacy. The Orchid Show will combine a spectacular display of living orchids in the Tropical Conservatory with an impressive exhibition of orchid treasures from Selby Gardens’ library and preserved collections in the Museum of Botany and the Arts. An additional orchid display will be included at Selby Gardens’ companion campus at Historic Spanish Point. October 11, 2019: The Jazz Club has not scheduled any events for the 2020 fall season. Get your toes tapping at "Jazz at Two" as Al Hixon opens the 2019 - 20 Jazz at Two season with a jam session. Al Hixon invited a number of artists to perform with his trio in a jam session to open the Jazz at Two concert series. A Jazz Club favorite, he performs regularly at Jazz at Two and for the annual Jazz Trolley night. October 11, 2019: Due to COVID-19 all Historic Spanish Point campus 2020 events are on hold/TBD this fall. Are you brave enough to dare to explore Historic Spanish Point in the moonlight on their Full Moon walking ghost tour? Hear stories of intrigue and mystery about Sarasota and Florida history as you visit the historic houses, prehistoric burial mound and pioneer cemetery of Historic Spanish Point. Men get ready to slap your feet and ladies twirl while enjoying authentic German music. Funny Bed Races, a Parade and the Miss Sun Fiesta Pageant culminating in a young woman being selected to win a $1,000 scholarship. October 16, 2021: The Newtown Farmers Market in Sarasota hosts the 4th annual Big Mama's Collard Greens Fest. The fest is a celebration of community and culture, with influence from Cajun, Creole, Southern and Caribbean styles. The legendary "big mama" represents the best-tasting family collard greens recipes, some dating back more than 100 years. In addition, chefs from major restaurants in Sarasota and Manatee counties and the Tampa Bay area will showcase their collard greens and specialty foods. Entertainment will highlight local talent! A family-friendly, no-alcohol event. Food will be available for purchase from multiple food vendors. October 16 - 17, 2021: The Arcadia All-Florida Championship Rodeo is hosting the 8th Annual Arcadia Fall PRCA Rodeo featuring the baddest bulls and broncs this side of the Mississippi along with all of the timed events everyone knows and loves!  Quadrille will perform at 1:00 p.m. Mutton Bustin for ages 4 - 6 at 1:30 p.m. The Rodeo action begins at 2:00 p.m. Rain or Shine! October 16 - November 1, 2020: Manatee Village Historical Park is hosting “Tombstone Tour,” a digital event about the 1850 Manatee Burying Ground. Learn about the history of the cemetery, the meaning of tombstone symbols, and listen to some of the stories of those who were buried there. The 1850 Manatee Burying Ground is the oldest public cemetery in Manatee County. This event is digital and will be sent to the email addresses of those who sign up to receive the digital event. October 17, 2021: Postponed until 2022 as registration for the 2022 event will open in February 2022. It's the Great American Cleanup Keep Sarasota County Beautiful has been granted approval to resume cleanup activities. They will be hosting a "Postponed" Great American Cleanup as KSCB has partnered with Sarasota County's Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources and Libraries and Historical Resources departments to offer new activities to enhance the environmental health and beauty of Sarasota County. In addition to traditional litter removal, there are opportunities to help with other special projects including invasive removal and gardening maintenance at various locations and water based litter removal by kayak. October 24, 2021: It's the 11th Annual Tour de North Port Bicycle Ride. This year's theme is "It's The Green Pumpkin!" It's not a race. It is a fun bicycle ride among some of the most beautiful pine flatwoods forests that can still be seen in Florida! There are 15, 35, and 65 mile routes that highlight North Port’s most natural settings and the parks that border the Myakkahatchee Creek with each route having its own color-coded road markings. When held in April It's sort of a farewell party for all of our “snowbird” friends from the colder climates of the northern U.S, Canada and afar, who come to be with us in Sarasota throughout the winter season. It's one of the most awaited fests of the year. It takes place in Siesta Fiesta! Siesta Key Village in Siesta Key (Sarasota), a one of a kind island community off the coast of Sarasota. This year, social distancing and other precautions help ensure safety amid the ongoing pandemic. Candy stations will be spread out along a longer route on the park’s northwest shore to ensure social distancing. To help ensure pedestrian safety, World Championship Drive on the park’s west side will be closed to car traffic.  Pedestrians will walk into the park from the Regatta Island parking lot and from the green parking lot beside the SCAT transfer. October 29 - 31, 2020: This Halloween, local artists Dave Gordon and Elln Hagney, will transform the cul-de-sac in front of their home into a free family-friendly drive-through Halloween experience titled Halloween on S. Lime Ave! Over fourteen separate technology-art-based Halloween scenes will feature: Projection mapped experiences, Custom created animatronics, Kinetic sculptures, Lighting, Special effects, Sound effects and more. Highlights include three projection mapped experiences, fire breathing pumpkins, glowing spider eggs, robots, flying ghosts and more. There are also swamp monsters engaged in an epic battle with pumpkin men and a ghoul’s garden filled with light up skull flowers, oversized mushrooms and a creepy caterpillar smoking a hookah. They also invite you to help them create their Western Style Cemetery. For a $25.00 contribution, participants can provide a funny name or the name of someone they know and the artists will add it to a new stone in the graveyard.
