October 2 - 31, 2019: Are there ghosts in Sarasota? Find out for yourself on a guided, dark and creepy, 75-minute Sarasota ghost walk. Experience the spirited and sinister side of Sarasota on this one-of-a-kind walking tour to learn more about the area and some of the residents who still call it home – many, many, many years later. Hear the haunting tales and feel the chill in the air. Boo! Reservations required – Parental discretion is advised – not recommended for small children. Wednesday through Saturday, 8 p.m. $18. October 5 - 6, 2019: It's time for the 31st Annual Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Fest which features hay rides, pony rides, pumpkin painting, face painting, mini train rides, a petting zoo and more. Lots of Halloween decorations for sale, too, from scarecrows to hay bales. Admission, Parking, Petting zoo, playground, live music, and decorated photo spots are FREE! Individual ride and game activity booth, including pony rides, unicorn encounter, hug a goat and pumpkin painting, has their own set price ranging from $1 – $7. Food available for purchase. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Additional dates: Oct 12 - 13, Oct 19 - 20 and Oct  26 - 27. Free admission and parking. October 11, 2019: Are you brave enough to dare to explore Historic Spanish Point in the moonlight on their Full Moon walking ghost tour? Hear stories of intrigue and mystery about Sarasota and Florida history as you visit the historic houses, prehistoric burial mound and pioneer cemetery of Historic Spanish Point. Tours start at the Gazebo, and are 1.5 hours in length. 7 p.m, 8 p.m., 9 p.m. $20 per person. Historic Spanish Point, 337 N. Tamiami Tr., Osprey, FL.

October 11 - 12, 2019: Manatee Village Historical Park will host Tombstone Tours, guided walking tours of the 1850 Manatee Burying Grounds where you will experience the historic grounds by torchlight, led by a costumed interpreter. Docents will describe the history of the Burying Grounds, personal histories of those buried there, and why the tombstones look the way they do. The 1850 Manatee Burying Grounds is the oldest public cemetery in Manatee County. It was the first burying ground for the Village of Manatee, which was the first established community between Tampa and Key West, dating to 1842. Gates open at 6:30pm, with tours beginning at 6:45 p.m. Tours will conclude by 8 p.m. Repeats October 18 - 19, 2019. *Presentation of tour in Church (rather than cemetery) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019.* Tickets are $20. October 12, 2019: Makes some plans to come out for the 5th annual Howl-O-Ween Movie night Spooktacular shown on the Ed Smith Stadium outfield video board. Bring the whole family to Ed Smith Stadium for spooktacular Halloween fun including children’s games and activities, photo ops, costume parade and a family-friendly Halloween-themed movie shown on the outfield video board. Bring your blanket to watch from stadium seating. Concessions available. Coolers are not permitted. Open to all ages. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult. October 12, 2019: Enjoy a Halloween Candlelight Tour at Gamble Mansion Historic State Park.This is a family friendly event with children receiving treats at the end of the tour. Halloween costumes are encouraged, but NO SCARY OR BLOODY costumes will be allowed. Visitors will tour the mansion by candlelight and see its many rooms decked out in the Halloween spirit. 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Tickets for this event are $8.00 per person and are available on line only, kids 6 - 12 $5. October 18, 2019: It's a Night of Fun, Fish & Fright at Mote Aquarium. Kids of all ages are invited to dress up in costume. Unearth shark teeth in “Coffin Creek," enjoy deep sea delights in the “Diner of the Dead." October 18, 2019: Have fun at the 17th Annual Goblin Gathering and National Night Out at Manatee Counties' G.T. Bray Park. A costume contest, face painting, hayrides, bounce houses and more for the kids. A $5 wristband is sold for children to participate in activities. Parents and trick or treating are free. October 18, 2019: Get ready for an  “Eerie Evening” of stories as you walk among Historic Spanish Point’s historic houses, ancient mounds, and their pioneer cemetery. This exclusive October-only event features  paranormal investigations by the Paranormal Society of Bradenton. There will be three tours each evening. The tours will meet at the white Gazebo on the Historic Spanish Point site and each tour will last approximately 90 minutes and will be roughly a ¾ of a mile walk outdoors with some pathways up and down stairs. 7 p.m., 8 p.m., 9 p.m. Repeats on 10/25/19. October 19, 2019: Just in time for Halloween, it's the Sleepy Hollow Experience! Join The Players in this outdoor immersive experience of Washington Irving’s classic story, Sleepy Hollow. Come explore the iconic ‘Tarrytown’ as it travels to Polo Club Lane! There will be kids activities, a costume sale, thriller lessons, pony rides, food trucks and more. Various showtimes of the outdoor adaptation of ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’ will take place throughout the day. October 21 - 25, 2019:  The SCF Venice Pop Culture Club Hosts its 12th Annual Haunted House, "Seasons of Fright." It seems that Halloween isn’t the only holiday with scare-power. In “Seasons of Fright” at SCF Venice, the fictional stars of other holidays (think the Easter Bunny and Cupid) will get a nightmarish makeover. Parents should be aware that even though there is not an age recommendation for the haunted house, it may not be appropriate for younger children. Tickets will be sold at the door for $3 (cash only). A percentage of the proceeds will benefit Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC), a nonprofit agency in Sarasota that serves victims of domestic and sexual violence and promotes a violence-free community through awareness and education. 10/21-10/24: 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.,10/25: 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), Lakeside Pavilion at SCF Venice, 8000 S. October 24, 2019: State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host the "Haunted House of Hoops." The night begins with "Trunk or Treat," which is like 'Trick or Treating' from car-to-car, presented by the SCF Circle K Club. Haunted House of Hoops will also feature a costume contest, games for attendees of all ages, a dunk contest, a haunted hallway and a scrimmage. This event is a great way to meet the SCF Manatees basketball team as they start their season. Food and beverages will be available for sale from Nana Nif's Home Cooking and Kona Ice food trucks. October 25, 2019: Check out the Halloween Trail Carnival at Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex.Enjoy carnival games, costume contest and parade, face painting, and much more. Perfect for ages 2 to 13. Children under the age of 5 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Free family friendly event. October 25, 2019: It's the 14th Annual Boo Fest Halloween Festival at Lakewood Ranch. The fest will be featuring local dancers, and enjoy their spooky balloon artist! Have your children bring their trick or treat bags to collect the many treats that will be given out from sponsors and merchants. Music will be playing in the background and children of all ages will have a HOWLING good time!! Each year they have a costume show so make sure you dress in costume! Fun for kids of all ages. October 25, 2019: It's the 19th Annual Clancy's Halloween Party and Costume Contest.They'll be giving away $500 in prizes for best costume in the categories: Scariest, Funniest, Sexiest, Most Original and Best Dressed Couple. October 25 - 26, 2019: Take in the 7th Annual Haunted Trails of Oscar Scherer State Park if you dare!  A spooky haunted trail for those who dare to be scared and a trick-or-treat trail for the younger or more cautious! Lots of activities for kids, costume prizes, food, spooky sounds and more! A frightfully fun time for the howl family! Adults 13+ $10. October 25 - 26, 2019: You're invited  to the 2019 Swamp Spooktacular at Crowley Museum & Nature Center, presented by The Florida Skunk Ape Project! Guests will go on a spooky adventure through the wilderness, with campfire stories of Sasquatch and paranormal activities. Plus there will be attempts to communicate with a ghost from our historic houses and search the skies for UFOs. This event will include tarot card readings, psychics, witches, ufologist, and Skunk Ape experts. This is a family friendly event, that takes place over the course of TWO days. 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. Admission is $15 an adult per a day. VIP camping is $100 for the weekend. October 26, 2019: The 16th Annual Boo Run & Boo Dash is a family oriented 5K run & Dash with a costume contest and awards. With over 1,200 runners and spectators expected, the race begins at 8:30 a.m. with a Boo Dash Kids Race at 7:45 a.m. All runners will receive a bib, t-shirt and a treat bag at registration. Costumes will be judged in these categories: Best Couple, Most Creative, Most Funny, Best Male/Female Kids Under 10. October 26, 2019: The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime is holding "Boos at The Bazaar!" There will be Trick or Treating inside the Bazaar with over 20 stops. enjoy live music from Key West Dave, arts and crafts, free kids books from Every Child, Inc., and a spooky costume contest with some fabulous prizes! 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Costume Contest: 12pm (Please arrive by 11am to register). October 26, 2019: The Bradenton Farmers’ Market is hosting Howl’ween, a pet costume contest and parade on Old Main Street. Watch as lines of pooches strut down Old Main Street in Halloween costumes with their owners. Owners are encouraged to dress up too! There will be a special prize for best owner and pet costumes. Sign up is 10 a.m.; pet parade at 10:30 a.m.; judging at 11 a.m. 
The market, located on Old Main Street, between Manatee Ave. W. and Third Avenue West in downtown Bradenton, is open every Saturday through the end of May, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. (941) 621-6471.

October 26, 2019: It's a Pumpkin Splash! Come take a swim and pick out your favorite pumpkin from a Floating Pumpkin Patch and then decorate or carve your pumpkin! October 26, 2019: The Darwin Brewing Company hosts their Halloween party which will double as a post game party for the Bradentucky Bombers’ last home match of the season, and members of the roller derby team will serve as judges for a costume contest. October 27, 2019: The Italian American Club of Venice hosts a Children's Halloween Bash for kids 10 and under. Child must be accompanied by an adult. October 27, 2019: Come to Spooktacular and join baritone Daniel Hoffman, organist Michael Stuart, and guest artists as they present a concert of seasonal music, love songs, and Broadway tunes. Wear your favorite Halloween costume and enjoy an afternoon of funny, somber, pretty, and scary much-loved music from Beauty and the Beast, Harry Potter, Camelot, Wicked, Les Miserables, The Little Mermaid and Phantom of the Opera. October 31, 2019: It's the 35th Annual, Siesta Key “Safe Treats!” Bring your little ones to trick or treat and look for participating members displaying festive balloons. In addition to Siesta Key Village, the event has expanded to include merchants on South Siesta Key. October 31, 2019: Goblins and Ghouls take over Anna Maria Island on Halloween. "Trail of Treats" starts with a kid's costume contest at the Anna Maria Island Chamber office. Afterwards, enjoy safe trick or treating at participating businesses in all three island cites. A list of participating businesses can be picked up at the Chamber office.
