My parents purchased a home and settled in Sarasota about eight years ago.
After several visits, my wife and I decided to buy a 'villa' - as we fell in love with the place...
Why?
Well, let's see - Siesta Key of course - nothing like an afternoon on Turtle Beach followed by dinner at Ophelia's ON the intra-coastal waterway.
We also love watching the sunset from O'Leary's Tiki Bar at Bayfront Park and Christopher's Bar on Lido Key.
The dining and cultural options are outstanding for any city - but really impressive due to Sarasota's relatively small size!
Great restaurants and world-class cultural and entertainment options abound; there's Marie Selby botanical gardens, the Ringling Museum, and ballet, opera, classical music and theater venues to suit any taste. Not to mention great jazz, as well as spring training baseball and winter polo for sports enthusiasts.
The area features plenty of shopping, hotel options and a great downtown district just off the bay - and St. Armand's circle is great for shopping, dining or just plain wandering.
In short, Sarasota's got it all - that's why we decided to buy there!
