March 1, 2023: Check out NBP Rec Day! This is a great opportunity for natural sound and family-friendly imagery on the water. For a small fee, children and their parents and siblings can get out on the water with their choice of our equipment, and switch out at their whim — kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards, a pedal pontoon boat, even a 15-foot sailboat with captain (masks required). $10 per person. $5 per adult with accompanying child. Free for children ages 6 and younger. Family maximum: $35 (for households of five or more) All must complete the waiver form. March 1, 2023: It's a free concert with live music with the Gentlemen of Jazz, which recreates the New Orleans Preservation Hall style of jazz. Enjoy the tunes from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. This free concert take place every Wednesday through April 6, 2022 in Centennial Park's Gazebo in downtown Venice, FL.

March 1 - 2, 2023: It's the Master Artists and Light Chasers 12th Annual Art Show and Sale. All paintings are available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to the renovation of the 1916 historic Keith Farmhouse at Philippi Estate Park. March 1 - 12, 2023: Sarasota's Bayfront Park has been the backdrop for Embracing Our Differences' colorful, larger-than-life canvases integrating powerful imagery and thought-provoking messages celebrating diversity. The scale and impact of this outdoor exhibition has continued to grow, attracting over two million visitors since its inception. (Park entrance is located at the corner of Ringling Boulevard and Bayfront Drive/US Route 41). For more information about Embracing Our Differences, call 941-404-5710.

March 2, 2023: Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources' Beach University series returns to the Siesta Beach main pavilion. In partnership with the Siesta Beach Ambassador volunteer program, this free educational series invites community members and visitors to learn about coastal environments in one-hour sessions. Beach University sessions are from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., every Thursday in March at the main pavilion on Siesta Beach, 948 Beach Road on Siesta Key. March 2, 2023: Enjoy the Brown Bag Concert Series every Thursday from noon - 1 p.m. with live music through March 31. Bring your lunch and a chair or blanket and enjoy a wide variety of musical performances.  Adding new local musicians. Relax and enjoy wonderful music in a delightful park setting. March 3, 2023: The Friday Jazz at Two Concert Series returns with Skip Conkling and Dixie Mix. Skip Conkling and Dixie Mix plays some of your favorite Dixieland & swing tunes from down New Orleans way. They’ll have you toe tapping and finger snapping. Enjoy music from the American Songbook and jazz standards. Joining Skip are Mike Evans, Marv Luckett, John DeWitt, Harley Somerfeld, and others. March 3, 2023: It's the first Friday of the month so that means Music on Main at Lakewood Ranch from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. with G-Force Revised playing a mix of Motown, Funk, Soul & Dance music. Beer, wine and food sales. Check out the fountain area for a balloon twister, face painting, and fun. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. Overflow parking is available at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. March 3 - 4, 2023: The Friendship Knot Quilters’ Guild of Sarasota will hold their Quilts in Paradise 2023 Show. The show will include hundreds of beautiful quilts, vendors, door prizes, basket raffles, mini quilt and block auctions, quilt appraisal services and our beautiful raffle quilt. The raffle drawing will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019 during the quilt show. Admission: $10. March 3 - 5, 2022. TBA for 2023. Check out the 29th Annual Pinecraft Days Arts & Crafts Festival! More than 40 exhibitors including Amish and Mennonite and upscale artists from around the Sun Coast area. Find handmade items from wood bowls to wind chimes, canvass, art, jewelry, candles, soaps, crafts, white elephant sale and more. March 3 – 5, 2023: It's the Downtown Sarasota Blues Festival with performances by creative and talented musicians from both the local and regional circuit. Choose your foods from a diverse menu of barbeque and meat dishes (along with vegetarian and seafood of course) all cooked fresh on site by local restaurants and food purveyors. During breaks between performances, enjoy time shopping a marketplace of fine arts, crafts, and select fine products and food items. March 3 - 5, 2023: The 17th annual Firestone Grand Prix roars into St. Petersburg featuring Indy Car style racing through the streets.  More than 150,000 fans are expected to view the race, a 1.8 mile 14-turn course through downtown St. Pete. With three days of racing and entertainment and festival events tickets start at $20 with numerous high priced packages available also. St. Petersburg, FL.

March 4, 2023: It's the Annual Shark's Tooth 10K run. The iconic Shark's Tooth 10K will be professionally chip-timed with custom finisher medals and locally printed custom race shirts. One of the favorite races for locals and visitors alike. You can also do a virtual Sharks Tooth 10k. Starts at 7:15 a.m. Registration fee is $49. Beautiful course from the Venice Airport Festival Grounds to Harbor Drive, on the road along the dunes of Venice Beach, through Casprsen Beach Park and returning to the Festival Grounds on the Venetian Waterway Park. March 4 - 5, 2023: It's the 22nd Annual Downtown Venice Art Classic which brings together longtime favorites and newer names in the contemporary art scene. March 5, 2023: It's the Gamble Plantation Historic State Park 61st Annual UDC Spring Open House. During the Mansion's 'free tours' see the many lifestyle demonstrations of  the era of the 1840’s - 1870’s. The ladies of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will be wearing costumes reminiscent of the era of the 1840’s through 1870’s to add that special touch of authenticity to the day. The Gamble Mansion will be open to the public with free tours  of the building. There will be music, crafts and fun for everyone. March 5, 2023:  Enjoy Sarasota's own Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Team and their Sunday afternoon show at 2 p.m. at Ski-A-Ree Stadium. This free show takes place at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (near/behind Mote Marine Aquarium on the water.) 2 p.m. 388-1666.

March 5 - 6, 2022: No show in 2023. They hold their show every other year. The Venice Area Quilter's Guild presents it's 2022 Quilt Show, "Quilting By The Gulf XIX." Venice quilters are often inspired by the beauty of the sea. This year they celebrate those inspirations.. View their beautiful quilts and vote for your favorite. Shop for handmade gifts at the Boutique. Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday 9 a.m. -  4 p.m. $8 at the door. March 6, 2023: Come out for Ringling by the Bay featuring live music and dancing with Paisley Craze on the Bolger Campiello. Food and drinks available for purchase. 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Tickets will be available approx. one month prior to each event, and will include a 24 hour pre-sale period for members. Members please note: $10 tickets are limited to one for Individual Memberships and two for all other Membership levels. Additionally, members may purchase up to four additional tickets at full price ($20) during the pre-sale period. Tickets are limited and will be available on a first come-first serve basis. March 6, 2023: It's Monday Night Jazz at the Florida Studio Theatre Court Cabaret. Monday Night Jazz at the Cabaret presents an exciting evening of jazz with top entertainment in an intimate cabaret setting in downtown Sarasota at the John C. March 9 - 12, 2023: The 95th Annual Arcadia All-Florida Championship Rodeo happens at the Rodeo Arena in Arcadia, about an hour's drive east of Sarasota.  Events include bareback riding, barrel racing and bull riding. March 10, 2023: The Friday Jazz at Two Concert Series returns with the Fred Johnson and the Michael Ross Trio. Vocalist Fred Johnson joins the Michael Ross Trio with music from the American Songbook, some classic jazz tunes, original compositions and jazz standards. Johnson, a dynamic jazz and world music vocalist, has toured with Chick Corea, BB King, Aretha Franklin and others. March 10, 2023: It's Free Music Friday Night Concert Series with live music at Centennial Park. The music of  Harbor Drive takes place at the Gazebo in the park.  Attendees are asked to follow current CDC guidelines. Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs and blankets. March 10 - 11, 2023:  It's the Venice Area Garden Club's 34th Annual Garden Tour and Plant Sale. Enjoy beautiful, unique private gardens and a Plant Sale. Open Air Event. Tickets Required for Admission - 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Proceeds benefit: The beautification of the Venice Area, Scholarships & Programs and other community activities. March 11, 2023: Enjoy an open-air marketplace featuring eclectic, chic, salvaged, coastal, re-purposed, vintage and epicurean “treats, treasures and art” when Le Marché Bohémien arrives in downtown Sarasota. It will be a vintage collector’s paradise with offerings from a variety of artists who create wearable clothing and accessories that feature vintage photographs and who specialize in re-purposing vintage apparel. Also find wall hangings crafted from stained glass and natural elements to sculpted work and intricate jewelry created from antique buttons, sterling silver and semi-precious stones. March 11, 2023: Mote Marine Laboratory hosts its fabulous Annual Party on the Pass, a casual night full of good food, good fun and goodwill supporting Mote's Sea Rescue, Rehabilitation and Release programs. Mote Aquarium’s Courtyard is transformed to host 400+ attendees enjoying delicious bites from food stations from top local restaurants. March 11 - 12, 2023: It's the return of Art in the Park for its 23rd year. Each year, the University Park Country Club (UPCC) hosts a fine art show featuring over 150 works of art created by local artists. The pieces range from large and small scale original paintings, mixed media, photographs, sculptures, small prints and beautiful note cards. The show is indoors and takes place rain or shine, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. After visiting the show, a perfect place to have lunch is at the club restaurant in a beautiful setting overlooking the lake and golf course. The restaurant offers an extensive menu, including craft cocktails. Admission to the show is free and there is free parking at the club. March 11 - 12, 2023: It's the 3rd Annual Lakewood Ranch Winter Fine Art Festival includes an outdoor gallery of original, handmade works by artisans from across America. You will find creations in painting, sculpting, jewelry, photography, glass, ceramics, fiber and wearable art, mixed-media, woodworking and much more. March 11 - 12, 2023: It's the Sarasota Open Air Fine Art Show. This quality juried fine art and fine craft show bring artists with all disciplines to sell their original and personally handmade art. The focus is visual arts and fine arts and fine crafts created by award-winning artists from around the world with all disciplines for sale – paintings, clay, glass, sculpture, fiber, wood, jewelry, and more. March 12, 2022: TBD for 2023The Annual Irish Celtic Festival & Lucky Dog Parade takes place at Greenbrook Adventure Park off SR70 in Lakewood Ranch. With entertainment stages, the Lucky Dog Parade, traditional food, face painting, Dancers, Bands. They’ll have plenty of traditional celtic food, craft beers, hard ciders and GREAT entertainment! The kids will have a blast too! Make sure you stop by and enjoy all the artisan booths.Don’t forget to bring your dog for the annual LUCKY DOG PARADE too. Awards will be given for dogs that are Most Irish, Cutest & Dog/Owner Look Alike. Proceeds for the parade benefit a local Animal Rescue. We are also pleased to continue our Relay Race. Live entertainment, a silent auction, yummy food samples from local chefs, bourbon, beer and wine tasting and more. 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Tickets are $65 in advance, $75 the day of the event at the gate. March 12, 2023: Come walk the Red Carpet as the Sarasota Film Society will be hosting its  Academy Awards Party. Watch the Academy Awards live on the Big Screen. The evening will also feature unlimited popcorn and choice of one adult or fountain beverage. March 13, 2022: TBD for 2023 time to gather your green!  It's the Annual Anna Maria Island St Patrick's Day Parade with floats, high school bands, golf carts, dancers and pipers oh my! 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. The route will begin in Holmes Beach at City Hall (5801 Marina Dr.) and continue down Marina Dr. to Palm Drive to Gulf Dr., right onto Pine Ave., Tarpon St. and onto Magnolia Ave. It will end at The Center of Anna Maria Island Community Center (407 Magnolia Ave). March 13 - 18, 2023:  The Jazz Club of Sarasota presents the Sarasota Jazz Festival, The festival features national, international and local musicians in a variety of free and cost events. All events require tickets. The primary venue for the Main Event festival concerts is Nathan Benderson Park. All Main Stage Events will be indoors at the Ulla Searing Big Top. March 14, 2023:  It's Anna Maria Island Heritage Day with live music plus Bar-B-Q, museum tours and settler era crafts and demonstrations; Bee Keeping, Candle Making, Soap Maker, Quilting, Broom Maker, Woodworking, Weaver and more including a booth selling baked goods and strawberry short cake. Food, drinks and raffles. See how the early settlers lived! And the Anna Maria island Privateers plan to “capture” Dan Murphy, Mayor of Anna Maria, and hold him for ransom in the jail. 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Free admission.  March 14, 2023: It's The Sarasota Jazz Festival Jazz Trolley/Pub Crawl at UTC. Ride the Hop on!, Hop off! trolley for Live Jazz at restaurants, hotels and clubs in the UTC Mall area at 10 locations. Visit as many as you wish. Food and beverages available for purchase at venues. The Trolleys will begin at the east side of UTC Mall in Parking Area 3 across from the Kona Grill at 5:00 PM and will run until 10:00 PM. Wristbands and Maps will be available starting at 4:45 PM. Tickets: $25 (Jazz Club members $20) - all tickets $30 on day of event. 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.

March 24 - April 2, 2023: The 25th Annual Sarasota Film Festival, is one of the year's biggest events. It's 10 days of movies, celebrities and parties when Hollywood comes to Sarasota! Founded in 1998, the Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) has grown to be a ten-day festival that plays independent and international narratives, docs and shorts that are programmed into a schedule of over 200 films including features, themed shorts packages and additional programming sidebars that change each year to reflect the strengths of submitted films. March 25, 2023: It's the 8th Annual My Hometown Fest, Southwest Florida's biggest and best neighborhood block party, featuring food, music, craft beer and spirits from across the USA. March 26, 2022: TBA for 2023. Keep Sarasota County Beautiful is excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2022 Great American Cleanup. In an effort to maximize volunteer opportunities and help keep volunteers safely distanced, we are hosting two Great American Cleanup events this year! Locations have limited capacity so be sure to register soon. Registration for the 2022 event will open in February 2022. All volunteers MUST individually register to participate by submitting a unique registration form. Volunteer groups may no longer register as one entry. March 26, 2023: Take a look at some cool old and vintage rides from many eras at the Venice AACA's 33rd Annual Antique Collector Car Show. This show  awards Over 70 trophies awarded in 20 classes. Over 250 entrants and thousands of fellow enthusiasts. All revenues generated by the show go to local charities. T-shirts and dash plaques, too. March 26, 2023: Put on your dancing shoes! It's the Annual Sarasota Ballroom Dance Competition, the world’s most fun one-day competition for a weekend you won’t soon forget. This year, they say they have another incredible show in store for you: Shane & Shannon Jensen and Travis & Jaimee Tuft will move you with their jaw-dropping, high-energy performance. There will be Pro/Am and Amateur events, Smooth & Ballroom Divisions, rhythm & Latin Divisions. The Sarasota Challenge 2023 takes place at  the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 1000 Blvd Of The Arts, Sarasota. March 26, 2023: Canceled for 2023. Check out the Bill Mergen's Memorial Car & Truck Show with music, door prizes. Car and Truck enthusiasts from across West Central and Southwest Florida will be on hand to display their rides. Hundreds of classic cars and trucks will be on display from the early 1900’s to today. There will be something for every interest including T-Buckets, Muscle Cars, Street Rods, Classics, Modified Imports, Off Road and Military Vehicles, Exotics and maybe even a vintage Fire Truck or two! March 26, 2023: It's a Sarasota Orchestra Parks and Partners Performance as The Sarasota Brass Quintet will be performing popular favorites at the Nathan Benderson Park Pavilion (just behind the playground). Bring a chair or outdoor blanket, sunscreen, bug spray, and something cool to drink (non-alcoholic beverages, only). Capacity at this event will be limited due to limited parking. March 26 - April 30, 2023: This concert season, Sarasota Orchestra expands its community engagement tour known as SO on the Road to bring live music into local parks and cultural destinations. While admission is free, attendees will be required to register to hold a seat at performances. Registration required. Sunday afternoons at 2:30 p.m. through April. Various outdoor locations around Sarasota and Bradenton parks. 

March 27, 2023: It's Monday Night Jazz at the Florida Studio Theatre Court Cabaret. Monday Night Jazz at the Cabaret presents an exciting evening of jazz with top entertainment in an intimate cabaret setting in downtown Sarasota at the John C. Court Cabaret at FST; First St and Cocoanut Ave, Sarasota, FL. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for food and beverage service. March 29, 2023: It's a free concert with live music with the Gentlemen of Jazz, which recreates the New Orleans Preservation Hall style of jazz. March 30, 2023: Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources' Beach University series returns to the Siesta Beach main pavilion. In partnership with the Siesta Beach Ambassador volunteer program, this free educational series invites community members and visitors to learn about coastal environments in one-hour sessions. Beach University sessions are from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., every Thursday in March at the main pavilion on Siesta Beach, 948 Beach Road on Siesta Key. Free.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs as seating is limited. No registration is required. March 31, 2023: The Friday Jazz at Two Concert Series returns with The Sarasota Jazz Project. Big Band Jazz at it’s finest with one of the best jazz bands in the area, the Sarasota Jazz Project directed by co-founder, George McLain. Comprised of some of the best musicians on the Gulf Coast, the sixteen piece band plays the music of the great big bands of the past as well as original compositions and arrangements. You’ll also hear vocals from the American songbook. Concert from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church 3975 Fruitville Rd. Admission at the door $15 members; $20 guests.

March 31, 2023: It's a new season of Music in the Park. On Friday evenings there are few better ways to relax and welcome in the weekend than listening to great local music in an outdoor setting. Thanks to this Realize Bradenton series, for seven Fridays you can enjoy the best in local music at the Rossi Park Pavilion on the Riverwalk.
