March 1, 2020: No info available. We assume it's canceled for 2021. Enjoy the 31st Annual Lido Tides Arts & Crafts Show in the open air along the beach in front of the Lido Beach Pavilion. Featuring the creations of talented artists and crafts people from all over. Lots of creativity on display and for purchase from spectacular paintings, one-of-a-kind jewels, and photography to ceramics, and much more. No matter what you're looking for, you'll be sure to find it among the various array of artists and crafters participating in this arts and craft festival. March 1, 2020: No information available for 2021. It's the 7th Annual Fairy and Gnome House Festival at Historic Spanish Point! You and your family are invited to connect directly with the environment and express your creativity and explore the magic of nature! This enchanting family experience is held in the gardens of Historic Spanish Point. Visitors will discover whimsical fairy and gnome houses and experience family-friendly activities in  four Elemental Lands: earth, Air, Fire and Water. March 1, 2020 : Have a craft brew at the 2nd Annual SRQ Craft Beer Festival featuring breweries, vendors and activities.  There will be food trucks, live entertainment and a pop-up boutique shopping area as well as activities for the kids.Tickets are $20 to enter and that gets you free samples from Gold Coast Eagle and all the local breweries and entry into raffles for gift cards to local businesses. March 1, 2020: Canceled for 2021. It's the last day of the DeSoto Food & Music Festival, a 3 day event with food, music, arts & crafts plus family fun. There will be local  artisans, vendors, a Kid's Zone and more. Among the bands performing will be The Georgia Satellites, Rebel Heart, and John Michael Montgomery. Admission: $10. March 1, 2020: Canceled for 2021 due to covid. Ladies & Gentleman, Boys & Girls....It's Circus Sarasota celebrating 23 years of Big Top Performances. Previous headliners have included comic daredevil, Sarasota's own international star, Bello Nock and Sarasota's high wire artist, Nik Wallenda. The all new winter production features 33 performances under the Red and White Big Top at various times, dates and ticket prices. Every year features a new cast in an intimate one-ring European style Big Top. This year’s show features incredible artistry on the flag pole and single trapeze, fast paced Alanian riders on horseback, hand-to-hand acrobatics, juggling and much more! March 1, 2020: Canceled for 2021. Check out North Port's San Pedro Community Festival where there will be live music, carnival rides, festival food, a market place and a beer and wine tent. Free admission. Sun: 12 p.m. - 7 p.m. San Pedro Catholic Church, 14380 Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL.

March 1 - 5, 2021: Manatee Heritage Days, Manatee Village Historical Park is offering guided cemetery tours. Visitors will have the chance to schedule their daytime tour in advance and visit the 1850 Manatee Burying Ground with a member of staff. These tours will be available only on select days: March 1 - March 5 and March 15 - March 19. Tours will be approximately 20 minutes in duration and take place at 9:30am and 10:30am on these dates. There will be four (4) slots per tour and must be scheduled in advance. At staff discretion, tours may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Tours are FREE, but reservations are required. March 1 - April 1, 2021: Sarasota's Bayfront Park has been the backdrop for Embracing Our Differences' colorful, larger-than-life canvases integrating powerful imagery and thought-provoking messages celebrating diversity. The scale and impact of this outdoor exhibition has continued to grow, attracting over two million visitors since its inception. March 1 - May 17, 2021: Enjoy the Bayfront Gardens at The Ringling for Acoustic Sunsets with a solo musician on Ca' d'Zan Terrace! This socially distanced event will feature live music with food and drink for purchase. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance. Masks are encouraged when social distancing isn't possible. Enjoy a relaxing evening of music during sunset. Sandwiches, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase on the terrace, and The Ringling Grillroom is offering other tasty items for pre-order. Please pre-order your items 24 hours in advance. For pick-up, just stop by The Ringling Grillroom in the Visitors Pavilion. Orders can be available after 4:00 pm. $20 / $18 Members. Tickets will be available 30 days prior to each event. March 3, 2022: Check out Ringling Underground with local and regional live music in the museum courtyard while up and coming artists showcase their works also in the museum courtyard. 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. Admission: $15. March  3, 2021: Enjoy world-class performances by local performing arts organizations at the Sunken Garden on Little Sarasota Bay. This performance is by The Hermitage Artist Retreat, Dorothy Lawson. Historic Spanish Point Campus.  6 p.m.- 8 p.m. Food and beverages available for purchase. Selby Gardens Members $20 Non-members $25 Virtual live stream $20. Tickets and more info. March 3 - 4, 2020: TBD for 2021. It's a free concert with live music on Tuesday with the Happy Time Band and Wednesday with the Gentlemen of Jazz. Enjoy the tunes from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. These free concerts take place in Centennial Park's Gazebo in downtown Venice, FL.

March 4, 2021: Enjoy the Brown Bag Concert Series every Thursday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. with live music through March 25. Bring your lunch and a chair or blanket and enjoy a wide variety of musical performances.  Adding new local musicians. March 5, 2021: Canceled TFN. It's the first Friday of the month so that means Music on Main at Lakewood Ranch from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m with The Whiskey Blind band! Beer, wine and food sales. Check out the fountain area for a balloon twister, face painting, and fun. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. March 5 - 7, 2021: The Circus Arts Conservatory will present a special showcase called "Prevail" in lieu of this year's canceled Circus Sarasota because of COVID. "Prevail" will feature a number of veteran performers from Cirque du Soleil in 10 performances. There will be limited in  person seating and itwill also be available on demand home streaming. In person tickets are $20 - $50, streaming tickets: $25. Proceeds will be donated by performers to support a number of CAC programs. Also March 12 - 14. March 5 - 7, 2021: Back by popular demand...Nik Wallenda's Daredevil Rally is coming to Nathan Benderson Park for an incredible adrenaline filled performance hosted by king of the high wire, Nik Wallenda. March 5 - 7, 2021: It's the 37th Annual "Greek Glendi - A Greek Festival."  The 2021, Festival organizers of the 37th Annual Greek Glendi want to ensure that Festival lovers stay safe and healthy, which means that the physical festival cannot be celebrated as usual. Organizers said, "We’ve thought long and hard about how to offer at least part of our Festival experience while keeping our team and fest goers safe due to the health precautions made necessary by the coronavirus pandemic. However, since festivals are about FOOD, a mouth-watering array of authentic Greek food will be available at our ST. BARBARA GREEK FEST TO GO  event on March 5, 6, and 7, 2021!" The online menu will be available in the middle of February. They recommend pre-ordering ahead of time so you can be guaranteed you won’t miss out on your favorite Greek food. March 6, 2021: Moved to July 17, 2021. It's the Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis club's 2nd Annual Cornhole & Cocktails Festival, a fun event with indoor cornhole, music, food, drinks, door prizes and raffles. There will be restaurants with samples of their food and cocktails along with breweries and wineries with samples of their selections! Eric Von will be performing live music from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.! March 6, 2021: Canceled for 2021. The 9th Annual Irish Celtic Festival & Lucky Dog Parade that  takes place at Greenbrook Adventure Park off SR70 in Lakewood Ranch. With entertainment stages, the Lucky Dog Parade, traditional food, a pot 'o gold scavenger hunt, face painting, Dancers, Bands, Guys can enter the very popular ‘BEST LEGS IN A KILT’ Contest, and more. Judging and awards will be given for dogs that are Most Irish, Cutest, and Dog/Owner look alike. Also as part of this year's fest they will continue the Relay Race. Check out Cat Depot's "Whiskers & Waves" Gala which will be held at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium where guests will enjoy a magical evening "under the sea" while supporting hundreds of needy cats in the Sarasota area. March 6, 2021: It's the 12th Annual Shark's Tooth 10K run. It starts at Rothenbach Park in Sarasota. Select either Saturday, February 27th or Saturday, March 6th when you register.  Limited to 100 each Saturday.  Start time: whenever you’re ready during an open start time frame between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m.Proceeds benefit Special Olympics. March 6, 2021: ArtSlam will not be taking place in 2021. Stroll the street and enjoy the Annual ArtSlam 2020 in downtown Bradenton. This annual community day showcasing collaborative creativity is a celebration of the arts and arts education. A Celebration of Youth & Creativity! Watch as dozens of teams of students and creatives take art out of the classrooms and studios and onto the streets. March 6 - 7, 2021: Check out the Venice Home Show for everything under the sun having to do with your home. March 6 - 7, 2021: Celebrate the agricultural history of Southwest Florida and the pioneers that preceded us during this year's Southwest Florida Heritage Festival. March 6 - 7, 2021: You're invited to enjoy the Berry Fest from the same people that bring you the annual Pumpkin Fest. This family friendly event will feature craft booths, face painting, a rock wall, bounce house, mini train rides, food, an Easter egg hunt (2 p.m. every Saturday), Pie-eating contest (every Sunday at 2 p.m.) and spring baby animals. March 7, 2021: Postponed for March 2021. “It looks like with COVID-19 on the rise again, the City of Tampa may not be ready to give permits for any March 2021 events,” said Lisa Figueredo, owner and promoter of the festival." March 7, 2021: Six of the Suncoast’s best jazz musicians will pay musical tribute to the swinging sounds of the 1940s in a special concert at 3 p.m. at Nathan Benderson Park. Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota takes a musical trip back in time with “The Glenn Miller Sound.” Leading the lineup of percussionist Rick Costa’s Jazz Sextet is vocalist Walt Andrus, who spent 15 years touring with Buddy Morrow and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and whose smooth vocal style is still likened to that of Frank Sinatra at his best.This performance also marks the debut of Artist Series Concerts at Nathan Benderson Park. To ensure the safety of audience members, musicians and staff, in addition to the outdoor setting, all seating will be socially distanced, guests’ temperatures will be taken upon arrival and masks or face coverings will be required. As a further safeguard, there will be no will-call and tickets must be purchased in advance. It's Anna Maria Island Heritage Day live music plus Bar-B-Q, museum tours and settler era crafts and demonstrations; Bee Keeping, Candle Making, Wool Spinning, Quilting, Knitting, Woodworking, Basket Weaving and more including a booth selling baked goods and strawberry short cake. March 7, 2020: Canceled for 2021. Take a short ride to the Parrish Heritage Days Parade and Festival, part of the Manatee Heritage days series of events. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. on 121st Avenue. The gates open at 11 a.m. at the Florida Railroad Museum with family friendly fun, a chili cook-off and tastiing, kids activities, live music, food and drink vendors and more. 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. $8 in advance $10 at the gate. March 7, 2021: Cancelled for 2021.  It's the Gamble Plantation Historic State Park Annual UDC 60th Annual Spring Open House. During the Mansion's 'free tours' see the many lifestyle demonstrations of  the era of the 1840’s - 1870’s. The ladies of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will be wearing costumes reminiscent of the era of the 1840’s through 1870’s to add that special touch of authenticity to the day. The Gamble Mansion will be open to the public with free tours  of the building. There will be music, crafts and fun for everyone. March 7, 2021: TBD for 2021. All Sarasota Ski-A-Rees Shows are currently on hold. Enjoy Sarasota's own Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Team and their Sunday afternoon show at 2 p.m. at Ski-A-Ree Stadium. This free show takes place at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (near/behind Mote Marine Aquarium on the water.) 2 p.m. 388-1666.

March 7, 2022: Come out for Ringling by the Bay featuring live music and dancing with Paisley Craze on the Bolger Campiello. Food and drinks available for purchase. 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Tickets will be available approx. one month prior to each event, and will include a 24 hour pre-sale period for members. Members please note: $10 tickets are limited to one for Individual Memberships and two for all other Membership levels. Additionally, members may purchase up to four additional tickets at full price ($20) during the pre-sale period. Tickets are limited and will be available on a first come-first serve basis. March 7 - 8, 2020: Not scheduled for 2021. It's the 19th Annual Downtown Venice Art Classic which brings together longtime favorites and newer names in the contemporary art scene. March 7 - 8, 2020: Moved to April 8 - 11, 2021. Check out the 20th Annual Art in the Park Exhibition & Sale which features the work of over 30 artists, many showing nationally and award winning, under the canopy at the University Park Country Club. The public is welcome to this juried show and sale of fine art, from paintings and photography to sculpture. Moving to March in 2020. No Bridge Run in 2021.The Annual Ringling Bridge Run, usually held each year in January was moved to March for 2020 in the hopes of being able to continue the run. Unfortunately due to complications, we assume, from the change over at the Sarasota YMCA in 2019, they are not able to hold the Bridge Run in 2020. Stay tuned for next year.

March 8 - 14, 2020: Moved to May 9 - 13, 2021. The Jazz Club of Sarasota marks its 40th anniversary with the 40th Sarasota Jazz Festival, its biggest ever. Ken Peplowski—"arguably the greatest living jazz clarinetist” (BBC2)—returns for his third year as music director for the mainstage concerts. The Manhattan Transfer will headline the milestone event. Other jazz stars include Dick Hyman, Clairdee, Houston Person, Charles McPherson, Russell Malone, Terell Stafford, and festival band La Lucha—Alejandro Arenas, Mark Feinman, and John O’Leary. The festival brings a mix of free and ticketed events. The festival’s mainstage concerts will be presented in the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 801 North Tamiami Trail and several other concerts will be staged at several venues, each within a short walking distance of the Auditorium. In addition, several long-established festival events will be held in their traditional venues at Phillippi Estate Park, Burns Court Cinema, and night clubs in downtown Sarasota, FL.

March 10 - 11, 2020: TBD for 2021. It's a free concert with live music on Tuesday with the Happy Time Band and Wednesday with the Gentlemen of Jazz. Enjoy the tunes from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. These free concerts take place in Centennial Park's Gazebo in downtown Venice, FL.

March 11, 2021: The Bridge Jazz Concert series is a collaborative project with the Jazz Club of Sarasota, Fogartyville/WSLR, and SAMBA, a group of area jazz enthusiasts anxious to bridge the void of excellent jazz performances created by the pandemic. The second show in the Concert series features two groups Hot Club SRQ and Berimbau. Hot Club SRQ performs Gypsy Jazz, Swing, Bebop and Latin with Keven Aland, violin, Jon McLaughlin, guitar and Glenn Stephenson, bass. The music is deeply rooted in the musical influence of the Gypsy Jazz  guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grapelli. Berimbau featuring Jeff Sack is a guitar duo performing a mix of jazz, blues, classic and bossa nova.The live-streamed event will allow for a very limited live audience with safe and responsible social distancing. March 12 - 13, 2021: Canceled for 2021. The Friendship Knot Quilters’ Guild of Sarasota will hold their 17th Biennial Quilt Show. (Next show is March 12 - 13, 2021) The show will include hundreds of beautiful quilts, more than 20 vendors, door prizes, basket raffles, mini quilt and block auctions, quilt appraisal services and our beautiful raffle quilt. The queen sized (88 x 88) quilt was made by a group of 20 Friendship Knot Quilters’ Guild members.  The quilt features Kaffe Fassett fabric and includes hand applique and machine paper piecing.  The raffle drawing will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019 during the quilt show.  Raffle quilt tickets can be purchased for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 during the show. March 12 - 14, 2021: The Circus Arts Conservatory will present a special showcase called "Prevail" in lieu of this year's canceled Circus Sarasota because of COVID. "Prevail" will feature a number of veteran performers from Cirque du Soleil in 10 performances. There will be limited in  person seating and itwill also be available on demand home streaming. March 13, 2021:  Get in the St. Paddy's Day spirit and Run in the Lucky Leprechaun 5K Race. The 2021 Lucky Leprechaun 5K and 10K will be a socially distanced in-person event held on March 13, 2021 at 7:00AM at Nathan Benderson Park. The 5K waves will start and 7AM and the 10K waves will start at 7:30AM. All participants will receive a race shirt, bib, and medal. They will be starting the race in groups of 50 participants every 5 minutes to provide safe distancing. Packet pickup dates will be announced as they get closer to race day. March 19 - 28, 2021: The 2nd annual Sarasota Native American Film Festival will take place virtually. The mission of the event is to present cinematic works related to the experience of indigenous people in the Americas. The festival is presented by the Sarasota Film Festival with support from the Boxser Diversity Initiative, in collaboration with the Native Reel Cinema Festival, the Stranahan House Museum, and the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum of Seminole Culture and History. March 22, 2020: 2021 Tour de Parks has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. It's the "Tour de Parks Fun Ride" on The Legacy Trail to celebrate its 9th anniversary. It's an on-road bicycle tour of varying distances along the paved trails and roads of Sarasota County. There is a 62 mile, 35 mile and 21 mile fully supported road ride with rest stops. If it rains, the concert will move inside MPAC for the first 99 people with reservations. Masks are required inside MPAC. March 27, 2021: Keep Sarasota County Beautiful is excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2021 Great American Cleanup. In an effort to maximize volunteer opportunities and help keep volunteers safely distanced, we are hosting two Great American Cleanup events this year! Locations have limited capacity so be sure to register soon. The first event will focus on special projects such as invasive plant removal, mulching and painting. The second event is scheduled for Saturday, April 17 and will focus on litter removal from local roadways, parks and beach areas. Important information about participating in this year's event: All volunteers must INDIVIDUALLY register to participate by submitting a unique registration form (see links below). Volunteer groups may no longer register as one entry. Walk-up volunteers will not be accepted on the day of the event. Students can earn service hours. For the Saturday, March 27 event, registration closes at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24.

March 27, 2021: The 5th Annual Suncoast Walk for Water brings a focus to the global water crisis. This year it will be a virtual event. This is a fundraiser to build a sustainable water system in community of Villa Talandracas, Peru. We will provide access to clean water to 3,600 residents. They're asking you to "walk for water" by taking a walk around your neighborhood, park, or any other area and post a photo to their Facebook page. March 27, 2021: The Tampa Bay Rays will host Drive to Opening Day, a new drive-thru event in the Tropicana Field parking lots that replaces the team’s annual Fan Fest. With COVID-19 still prevalent in the Tampa Bay area, the Rays have transformed the preseason event into a drive-thru concept with giveaways, experiences and photo opportunities from fans’ cars. Fan hosts, DJs and mascots Raymond and DJ Kitty will be on hand at stations throughout the event. To participate in Drive to Opening Day, fans can claim a free ticket for a designated time slot at RaysBaseball.com/Drive. Season Members will have the opportunity to claim tickets before the general public. Tickets reserved in advance are free. If space is still available, fans who arrive on the day of the event without a reservation can enter by making a $10 donation to the Rays Baseball Foundation and Rowdies Soccer Fund. Among the activities and experiences at the event, fans will have the opportunity to take pictures with the American League Championship trophy. A snack station will have light ballpark fare for fans as they drive. The Rays are committed to keeping fans and staff safe during the Drive to Opening Day event. March 28, 2021: Big trucks are rolling back into Nathan Benderson Park for Big Truck Day. Now in its 25th year the event will be conducted in a drive-thru format for a safe and distanced experience, giving families a chance to learn more about the vehicles and trucks they see on the streets. The Easter Bunny will also be on-site distributing goodie bags at the end of the route. All participants must remain in their vehicle throughout the event due to COVID-19 precautions. Pre-registration is also required. The Venice Symphony Brass Quintet offers a musical smorgasbord covering everything from standard brass quintet literature and jazz to Bach and Broadway. March 29, 2020:  Canceled for 2021. They hope to return in 2022. It's the 16th annual Capt John Breuggeman Memorial Grouper Tournament. It's a one-day offshore tournament for grouper with prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place plus a trophy for the biggest catch. Plus there's usually an after tournament barbeque and raffle for prizes. The spirit of this tournament is to provide a chance to fish, to have fun, to eat together, to raise scholarship monies and especially to honor the memory of John Breuggeman.
