March 1, 2018: Enjoy the free Brown Bag Concert Series at Phillippi Estate Park every Thursday from noon - 1 p.m. through March 31. Bring your lunch and a chair or blanket and enjoy a wide variety of musical performances. Free admission and Free parking. March 1, 2018: Taking the audience on an exploration into the unknown, the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Concert and Chamber Choirs will explore “New Horizons” in music. The concert will feature improvisational and aleatoric methods of singing. Improvisational singing is created from scratch at the time of the performance, while aleatoric – the word is derived from Latin and implies “rolling the dice” – compositions generally leave one primary element of the composition to be determined by the performers. March 1, 2018: Get groovin in the courtyard at Ringling Underground where you can enjoy live music in the Museum of Art Courtyard. March 1 - 4, 2018: Ladies & Gentleman, Boys & Girls....It's Circus Sarasota celebrating 21 years of Big Top Performances and in 2018 it presents, "Ovation!" Previous headliners have included comic daredevil, Sarasota's own international star, Bello Nock and Sarasota's high wire artist, Nik Wallenda. The all new winter production features performances at various times and dates. Ticket prices range from $12 - $44. Performances take place under the Big Top which opens 1 hour before show time. March 2, 2018: It's the first Friday of the month so that means Music on Main at Lakewood Ranch from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m! Beer, wine and food sales. Check out the fountain area for a balloon twister, face painting, and fun. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. March 2, 2018: It's the Moon Over Myakka Concert Series 2018 at the South Pavilion with The Prestage Brothers. A homegrown, eccentric style with upbeat blues/bluegrass duo and quirky music with homemade instruments. 7 p.m. Bring a chair and a picnic! Cost: $20 per person ($15 for Friends members). March 2 - 3, 2019: Enjoy the 30th Annual Lido Tides Arts & Crafts Show in the open air along the beach in front of the Lido Beach Pavilion. Featuring the creations of talented artists and crafts people from all over. Lots of creativity on display and for purchase from spectacular paintings, one-of-a-kind jewels, and photography to ceramics, and much more. No matter what you're looking for, you'll be sure to find it among the various array of artists and crafters participating in this arts and craft festival. March 3, 2018: It's the 9th Annual Shark's Tooth 10K run. It starts at the Venice Airport Festival Grounds. Participants receive: Custom medal for all finishers, Free entry to the 26th Annual Shark's Tooth Festival, Premium post race party, Door prizes, Custom Awards and more. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics. Registration fees varies. March 3, 2018: Stroll the street and enjoy the 9th annual ArtSlam 2018 in downtown Bradenton. This annual community day showcasing collaborative creativity is a celebration of the arts and arts education in conjunction with the Bradenton Farmers’ Market. The festival's focus this year is showcasing arts educators and their students. Old Main Street will be transformed into an interactive art zone.The free event features live performances, site-specific installations, and engaging art exhibits by Manatee County students and professional artists. 28 teams of student and professional artists are participating in ArtSlam this year, more than ever. March 3, 2018: The Bradenton Women's Club presents it's 3rd Annual Celebrity Dance Competition to raise money for veteran charities as well as paying for their clubhouse's new roof and floor!

March 3 - 4, 2018: Enjoy the 5th Annual Fairy House Festival with fairy houses located throughout the 30-acre property for viewing by museum visitors. In addition to the fairy houses, the festival will feature musical performances, Balloon Art, Paper Dragons, a costume parade, face-painting, enchanted garden walks, food trucks and more. The festival also will include a competition for the best fairy house. Saturday: 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Sunday: noon - 5 pm. March 3 - 4, 2018: You're invited to enjoy the Berry Fest from the same people that bring you the annual Pumpkin Fest. This family friendly event will feature craft booths, face painting, a rock wall, bounce house, mini train rides, food, an Easter egg hunt (1 p.m. Saturday), and spring baby animals. Since it's the "Berry Fest" they will feature yummy strawberry shortcake, strawberry milkshakes, hand-dipped blueberry cheesecake ice cream plus kettle corn and plenty of good eats. March 4, 2018: You're invited to a free open house! It's the Gamble Plantation Historic State Park Annual UDC 58th Annual Spring Open House. During the Mansion's 'free tours' see the many lifestyle demonstrations of  the era of the 1840’s - 1870’s.  Additionally, members of the 4th Florida Volunteer Infantry will have a Confederate camp.  Music, crafts and more on the grounds. 10 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Free admission and parking. March 4, 2018: Enjoy Sarasota's own Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Team and their Sunday afternoon show at 2 p.m. at Ski-A-Ree Stadium. This free show takes place at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (near/behind Mote Marine Aquarium on the water.) 2 p.m. 388-1666.

March 5, 2018: Come out for Ringling by the Bay featuring live music and dancing with Paisley Craze. Food and drinks available for purchase. 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Admission: $5 - $15. March 6 - 7, 2018: It's a free concert with live music on Tuesday with the Happy Time Band and Wednesday with the Gentlemen of Jazz. Enjoy the tunes from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. These free concerts take place in Centennial Park's Gazebo in downtown Venice, FL.

March 7 - 10, 2018: The Jazz Club of Sarasota, one of the most active jazz societies in the nation, will present "A World of Jazz" for its 38th Annual Sarasota Jazz Festival. This year's Fest,one of the sun coast's most looked forward to events of the year, will feature 14 musicians from seven nations in four concerts, over a dozen locally based musicians for a Pub Crawl by Trolley, and the French art film Django. In addition, at one of the concerts the Club will present its highest honor, the Satchmo Award, to a musician for "unique and enduring contribution to the living history of jazz." Festival activities will be presented in various Sarasota venues including Marriott's new Art Ovation Hotel, downtown Sarasota night clubs and Burns Court Cinema. A last-minute change in location for four major concerts, the Sarasota Jazz Festival will return to its home of recent years, Riverview Performing Arts Center, at Riverview High School, 1 Ram Way, Sarasota, for the four concerts. The locations and schedules for the other two festival events, the Pub Crawl by Trolley and the screening of the film Django remain unchanged. Sarasota Jazz Festival ticket prices peak at $49, with discounts available for Jazz Club members and through several combination packages. March 8 - 11, 2018: It's the return of Sarasota Balloon Festival with dozens of hot air balloons taking to the skies and performing spectacular night glows each evening. The event is a combination of mass balloon ascents, competition flying, static displays and tethered rides!In addition to balloon activities the event features a large carnival, entertainment on stage, retail vendors, food vendors, an arts and crafts area plus many more activities incuding a Carnival, Classic Car Show, Craft Beers, Kids Zone, Retail Vendors and Wine Garden and Tethered Rides available each evening at 6 p.m. ($20 per person). March 8 - 11, 2018: The 90th Annual Arcadia All-Florida Championship Rodeo happens at the Rodeo Arena in Arcadia, about an hour's drive east of Sarasota.  Events include bareback riding, barrel racing and bull riding. March 8 - 18, 2018: The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee Presents The 2018 Naiditch Family Foundation 9th annual Jewish Film Festival. The film festival features 12 celebrated feature films that highlight Israel and includes the southwest Florida premiere of the documentary “Ben-Gurion, Epilogue.”  The annual festival celebrates Israeli life, history and culture. In response to last year’s unprecedented attendance, organizers have added more matinee and evening screenings, most of which are at Regal Hollywood 20, 1993 Main Street, Sarasota. The festival kicks off on Thursday, March 8, 7 p.m., with the Opening Night Celebration showcasing the southwest Florida premiere of “Ben-Gurion, Epilogue,” an intimate interview with Israel’s founding prime minister, filmed nearly 50 years ago. March 9, 2018: A new season of Music in the Park kicks off at the Riverwalk in Bradenton. March 9, 2018: Don't Miss this Courtyard Performance: Toni Dove's Spectropia!  Performers employ motion-sensing technology to inhabit onscreen characters in this full-length feature on three screens in The Ringling Courtyard. March 9 - 11, 2018: The 14th annual Firestone Grand Prix roars into St. Petersburg featuring Indy Car style racing through the streets.  More than 150,000 fans are expected to view the race, a 1.8 mile 14-turn course through downtown St. Pete. March 10, 2018: The 7th Annual Irish Celtic Festival & Lucky Dog Parade that  takes place at Adventure Park off SR70 in Lakewood Ranch. With entertainment stages, the Lucky Dog Parade, traditional food, a pot 'o gold scavenger hunt, Dancers, Bands, Guys can enter the very popular ‘BEST LEGS IN A KILT’ Contest, and more.  Judging and awards will be given for dogs that are Most Irish, Cutest, and Dog/Owner look alike. Sarasota Film Festival’s Moonlight Movies 2018 season continues with “Beauty and the Beast.” SFF offers the free screenings as a way of giving back to the community before and during the festival season. March 25, 2018: The Orioles and Ed Smith Stadium will host a special end-of-season charitable concert featuring the award-winning country duo LOCASH. All proceeds from the event will benefit Sarasota Academy of the Arts Musical Theater Program. Taking place at the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Sarasota, doors will open at 10:30 a.m. with signature cocktails, a shopping reception and a raffle, followed by a delicious lunch. Guests will be treated to a fabulous fashion show produced by INfluence Style, a live auction, and exciting entertainment throughout the luncheon. March 29, 2018: It's Viet Nam Veteran's Day. Commemorated at Sarasota National Cemetery's Patriot Plaza, General (Retired) Hugh Shelton will be the Keynote Speaker. The event is to pay homage to Vietnam Veterans and Welcome them Home. At the end of the program Vietnam War Commemoration pins will  be handed out to Vietnam Veterans or family members to say Thank You for their service and sacrifice over 50 years ago. March 29, 2018: The theme for State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) chamber music concert is “Good Things Come in Small Packages.” The college’s small ensembles will be featured, and the audience will be seated on stage with the musicians providing an intimate musical experience. SCF’s Brass Choir will open the concert with two fanfares, Percy Grainger’s “Duke of Marlborough Fanfare” and Paul Dukas’ “Fanfare from La Péri.” The Woodwind Choir will follow with “Tarantella and Caprice” by William Rhoads. March 30, 2018: It's the annual Hernando De Soto Children’s Parade! The 2018 theme is “Creatures under the Sea” and will feature floats, schools, families, kids and other organizations decked out to emulate Creatures under the Sea.This year the parade will feature awards for “Best Performance” as well as “Best Cheerleading Performance” and a non-float “School Spirit” cash award.
