April 2, 2019: The Bradenton Marauders will host “Meet the Marauders” with live music and games, including corn hole, the Marauders inflatable speed pitch, the prize wheel, and a photo booth where fans can pose for pictures with Marauders players. April 2, 2020: Get groovin in the courtyard at Ringling Underground where you can enjoy live music in the Museum of Art Courtyard. April 5, 2019: It's Music in the Park at the Riverwalk in Bradenton. Bring a picnic basket, blankets or chairs, and your furry companions on leashes to the Bradenton Riverwalk Mosaic Amphitheater and enjoy the show featuring Doug Deming & The Jewel Tones—for free! April 5, 2019: It's the first Friday of the month so that means Music on Main at Lakewood Ranch is from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m with SoulRCoaster who will fill the air with Oldies, Classic Rock and Today’s Hits! Beer, wine and food sales. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. Overflow parking is available at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. April 5 - 6, 2019: The top college rowing teams in the southeast will take to the waters of Nathan Benderson Park for the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association (FIRA) FIRA Rowing Regatta. April 5 - 7, 2019: The Annual Sarasota Chalk Festival will takes place twice in 2019. It will return to downtown Sarasota's Burns Square area in April, 2019 and resume in Venice at the Airport Festival Grounds in November, 2019. The theme of the 2019 festival is: 'Garden of Wonders' - "A tribute to
the marvels of the natural world and the human imagination." Hundreds of
chalk artists will create
artwork using the pavement of the Venice Airport Festival Grounds as
their canvas and the grounds will
also serve as the main parking area and site of the 4 day event. Last
year over 500 national and international artists participated in the
Sarasota Chalk Festival. The fest features street painting; 3D Pavement

April 5 - 14, 2019: It's the 21st Annual Sarasota Film Festival, one of the year's biggest events. It's 10 days of movies, celebrities and parties when Hollywood comes to Sarasota! The opening night film will be the documentary “Mike Wallace is here” which will explore Wallace’s life and work, including his 50-plus-year career in broadcast journalism. Among the events that will take place in 2019: Live in-person Conversations with Greg Kinnear, Blythe Danner and Anne Heche, to take place at Florida Studio Theatre. (Danner and Heche will receive awards during the closing night ceremony.) Actress Tyne Daily will also appear at the festival and will take part in a Q & A after her new movie, "A Bread Factory," which is a four-and-a-half hour movie, including intermission! Hollywood Stars who made appearances in 2018 included actress Virginia Madsen and actor Steve Guttenberg, who received a career achievement award from the festival. The 2017 Film Festival included Diane Lane, Rory Kennedy, and Aisha Tyler. Actors Stanley Tucci, and Rosanna Arquette, who took part in the "In Conversation With" series, also attended the 2017 festival. On the 2016 appearance agenda were actresses and actors: Sophia Loren, Olympia Dukakis, George Hamilton, Mathew Modine, Treat Williams and more. Making appearances in 2015 were actresses Cloris Leachman, Jane Seymour and Blythe Danner. In recent years: making an appearance at the 2013 Film Festival was actress Mariel Hemingway. April 6, 2019: It's the 33rd Annual Run/walk for the Turtles sponsored by Mote Marine on Siesta Key Public Beach. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Siesta Key Gazebo south of the pavilion. April 6, 2019: It's the 5th Annual Children's Book Fair and Family Fun Day at the Bradenton Farmers’ Market. April 6, 2019: The Bradenton Marauders will embark on the 10th season in franchise history. The team’s home opener is against the St. Lucie Mets. Opening Night promises to be an enjoyable kickoff to a historic season. The ZOOperstars! troupe of inflatable entertainers will take the field between innings to thrill the crowd. Each of the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Marauders in the Majors Deck of Playing cards. April 6 - 7, 2019: Sarasota Bay plays host to the Sarasota Youth Sailing Club's 32nd annual SailFest Regatta. It's part of a nationwide event for sailors ages 8 - 21. This Junior Olympic event draws over 200 sailors and their families to the Sarasota Sailing Squadron and the surrounding areas for the weekend. April 13, 2019: A locally sourced, six course, fine dining experience prepared by distinguished local chefs will be featured once again as Bradenton's Longest Table event returns to downtown Bradenton to celebrate local chefs, cars, cuisine, and history at the Long Table at Jake's Automotive. The event will feature Chef Rich Knowles of EnRich Bistro, Chef Richard Demarse of Chiles Group, and Chef Paul Mattison of Mattison's City Grille Bradenton Riverwalk. April 26 - 27, 2019: Manatee Village staff will host Spiritualism & Tea and fascinating stories of psychics, ghosts and divination at Charms of Leffingwell in Ellenton. Manatee Village Historical Park will be opening a new exhibit, “Religion in Manatee”, in April. Manatee Village staff will provide trivia and a brief talk on the history of Spiritualism, a fascinating religious movement that started in the mid-1800s based on the belief that spirits of the deceased remain present and are able to communicate with and give guidance to the living. The talk will touch on topics like the ghost story that started the movement in 1848 and the founding of Cassadaga, Florida’s famous “Psychic Capital of the World”, around 1875. Charms of Leffingwell is a tea room and antique store housed in a 1905 historical home in Ellenton. Tickets are $22 and include tea, sweets, and savories. April 27 - 28, 2019: It's the always popular 41st annual Siesta Fiesta which takes place in Siesta Key Village from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. It's sort of a farewell party for all of our “snowbird” friends from the colder climates of the northern U.S, Canada and afar, who come to be with us in Sarasota throughout the winter season. April 27 - 28, 2019: It's the 2nd Annual the Lakewood Ranch Fine Art Festival. Find original handmade artwork to enrich your life and beautify your home and office. Artwork by local, regional and national artisans. Works in painting, sculpture, jewelry, glass and ceramics, photography, fiber and wearable art to mixed-media, metalwork, woodworking and more will be on display. April 28, 2019: It's the 17th Annual "Ride The Beaches" scenic bike rides sponsored by Sharky's on the Pier. There's a 70 mile, 35 mile and 15 mile ride. Check in and breakfast starts at 6:00 a.m. The 70 mile ride starts at 7:30 a.m. The 35 mile ride begins at 8 a.m. The 15 mile ride begins at 9 a.m. There's a full lunch served from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The ride benefits the Live Strong Foundation. $45 registration. 6 am - 2 p.m. Sharky's is at 1600 Harbor Drive on Venice Island. April 28, 2019: Here's a blast from the past for historic and vintage car enthusiasts: More than 1,500 Antique vehicles will be on display at the 50th Annual Deveraux-Kaiser Collector Car Meet. The show, postponed in January due to bad weather, is free and features vehicles vintage 1994 and older plus food trucks on site.
