December 1, 2019: Postponed until Nov. 6 thru Nov. 28, 2021 and will move to a new permanent home. For some old time fun check out the annual Sarasota Medieval Fair. There's jousting, human combat chess tournaments, rides and games along with food and drinks from turkey legs to hearty ales. There's also Celtic music and the new artisan marketplace with over 100 shops, food, and snack booths plus 11 stages holding over 75 shows daily! December 1 - 4, 2020: Entre Nous Club of Manatee presents its Holiday Festival of Trees online auction. They are feeling festive and think you'll enjoy this year's fundraiser! As the uncertainty of holding a function that can draw a crowd of over one thousand people in a weekend continues, the active members of Entre Nous Club have decided to keep with the holiday spirit and traditions, but move their annual fundraiser online.  They invite you to visit their online auction by clicking a link below to bid on a variety of beautifully decorated trees, wreaths and lots of fabulous gifts to put under the tree.

December 1, 2020 - February 28, 2021: The Photoville FENCE makes its third consecutive appearance at Nathan Benderson Park.The public photography project is exhibited year-round in major parks and downtowns across North America. Featuring more than 90 photographers annually, the exhibition brings compelling visual stories into the public realm, and to a wide and diverse audience. As an outdoor exhibition, social distancing is a distinct built-in feature of the show.“The local show also includes a showcase of seven Florida photographers, judged separately from the international show. The Photoville Fence will appear on the upper finish tower parking lot, on both sides of a chain-link fence between the two bridges onto the park’s Regatta Island. December 3, 2020: It's an evening of Holiday Splendor at The Ringling. Celebrate the holiday season and help support the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots, serving Sarasota and Manatee counties. Visit The Ringling for a Holiday Splendor drive-through experience. Come drive through their holiday decorations and donate unwrapped toys! This year instead of having live performances by local school groups, we will be showcasing giant Christmas cards that children have created for the event. Participants will receive a $5 off coupon for their next visit to the Museum! December 3 - 5, 2020: The Manatee County Agricultural Museum and Palmetto Historical Park invite you to kick off the Christmas season with Palmetto’s Christmas in the Park. Visit the decorated buildings, visit with Santa (by reservation only). Have your camera ready to take a picture with him. Choice #1: Celebrate the holiday season with a visit to meet Santa while practicing social distancing. Choice #2: You can also have a tour of the park along with a Santa visit! December 4, 2020: The Jazz Club has not scheduled any events for the 2020 fall season. Get your toes tapping at "Jazz at Two" with Synia Carroll Jazz. Synia Carroll draws inspiration from the jazz legends of the 40s, 50s, 60s. Hints of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Nancy Wilson can be heard. Whether singing a ballad or up tempo swing number, she brings the same clear, smooth tones and excitement to the classic jazz standards. Synia has become a favorite throughout the Bay area performing with many of the top jazz artists. December 4, 2020: It's the 42nd Annual Holiday Night of Lights on St. Armand's Circle. Holiday Night of Lights” is St. Armand's official “kick off” to the holiday season. The event begins with a special performance at 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Join in with their annual Christmas Carol Sing-a-long beginning at 6:00 pm, Photos with Santa are available throughout the evening from 6:30pm – 8:00pm.  Visit the live nativity scene at St. Armands Key Lutheran Church. December 4, 2020: Canceled. Lakewood Ranch presents Music on Main the first Friday of each month from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m.! Sugar & Spice Revue band will fill the air with Blues, R&B, Soul & Southern Soul music and the deejay will keep you dancing with today’s Top 100 hits; the event will benefit Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee. Santa will stroll and take photos at the Christmas Tree. Beer, wine and food available. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. December 4 - 6, 2020: The 9th Annual Bradenton Blues Fest will take place at LECOM Park with a reduced number of tickets available, social distancing measures and other precautions. The Bradenton Blues Festival Weekend kicks off on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, with a “Blues Appetizer” Concert. The Bradenton Blues Festival is on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, with an outstanding lineup of talented blues musicians on the big stage. In addition to amazing music, you can purchase local craft beer and wine, delicious food, and cool festival merchandise. The weekend wraps up with a tasty and soulful Bradenton Blues Brunch prepared by award-winning Chef Paul Mattison on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020. Various ticket prices from $20 - $125. Festival day: Gates open at 10 a.m. Music begins at 11 a.m. and goes to 8 p.m. LECOM Park, 1611 9th St W, Bradenton, FL. ( Although LECOM Park has seating for 7,500 during a ballgame, there will only be 1,100 general admission attendees in stadium seats and 150 front-of-stage seats in the outfield at the festival. The stadium offers twice as much open space than the former Riverwalk location, which permits for CDC-recommended social distancing in an outdoor environment.
All attendees will be assigned seats when their tickets are scanned at Will Call. Tickets purchased in one transaction will be seated together and separated by six feet or more from other patrons. Everyone entering the event, including attendees, musicians, volunteers, and event staff will be screened via touchless thermometer. Anyone exhibiting COVID-like symptoms will not be allowed to enter the venue. Face masks must be worn by all attendees when they are not seated in their socially-distanced seats and no exceptions will be made for medical reasons.)

December 4 - 6, 2020: It's the 23rd Annual Jingle & Jog 5K Run or 1 Mile Walk in support of The Haven to benefit people of all ages with disabilities. Due to COVID-19, this year’s race will be virtual! While they will miss welcoming everyone to their campus they are hopeful for a great turn out since participants can run the race anywhere! Join them anytime from Dec. 4th-Dec. 6th for a Sarasota holiday tradition. Stay tuned for an announcement of when and where participants can pick up their race shirts and medals. December 4 - 11, 2019: Canceled for 2020. You're invited to the 46th Annual Singing Christmas Tree to enjoy the wonder of Christmas. Presented by the First Sarasota Downtown Baptist Church, The Singing Christmas Tree, some 25 feet tall, sporting over 10,000 lights with 12 levels that hold 115 choir members, is an annual music and drama production written & directed by church members and accompanied by an orchestra featuring songs of the Christmas Season and stunning pageantry. Sarasota Holiday Parade

December 5, 2020: Canceled for 2020. The 25th Annual Sarasota Holiday Parade takes place in downtown Sarasota on the first Saturday evening of December. With thousands participating and even more thousands viewing, the parade kicks off at 7 p.m. with decorated floats, live marching bands and the guest of honor "rounding" out the parade, Santa Claus. December 5, 2020: The All Faiths Food Bank will host mass food distribution events at Ed Smith Stadium to support Sarasota County residents impacted by COVID-19. The distribution will take place in the East Lot and is first-come, first-served, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Ed Smith Stadium,  2700 12th St, Sarasota, FL.

December 5, 2020: Venice Concert Band 2020-2021 Season Cancelled. 2020-2021 Season Tickets have been extended through the 2021-2022 concert season. There will be a Concert performance, "Holiday Treasures," by the Venice Concert Band. December 5, 2020: Canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. The Starry Night Gala is an evening under the stars to help benefit Crowley Museum & Nature Center. Pre-registered guests can arrive at 5 p.m. and will have access to an open bar and hors d'oeuvres while listening to live music. At the event there will be silent and live auctions with many different items and experiences. Dinner will be served Florida Cracker style surprise. Soon after a delicious dessert guests will be offered a view of the night sky along with the Local Group Of Deep Sky Observers. December 5, 2020: It's the North Port Poinsettia Parade. The annual Poinsettia Parade kicks off at 5 p.m. with floats adorned with poinsettias, decorated vehicles, and walking groups and will be on line live on their Facebook page. The Poinsettia Parade has been temporarily relocated this year to travel north on North Port Blvd. from the intersection of Greenwood Ave., ending at Appomattox and will last approximately 60-90 minutes depending on the number of entries received. In support of current health and safety guidelines, limited in-person spectator viewing will be available and no parade participants will be able to walk the route, distribute candy and/or other giveaways. 5 p.m.

December 5, 2020: In 2020 it is being called The Great Christmas Caper Boat Parade. The annual traditional parade was canceled by the City of Venice, however, this group is still putting on the boat parade that was canceled by the city. Same route for the boat parade in 2020 as years past. Traditionally held on the first Saturday of December, The Venice Christmas Boat Parade starts at 6 p.m. (rain date is the next day) along the Intracoastal Waterway in Venice starting at the Albee Road Bridge in Nokomis and moving south along the waterway to the Circus Bridge in Venice. Spectators line the north (at South Nokomis Beach) and south (at North Venice Beach) jetties and throughout the downtown and Venice waterfront areas to the judging area near the south Circus Bridge for a view of the brightly lit and colorfully decorated “Christmas Boats.” 6 p.m. Admission is free. December Sarasota Events on Escape-to-Sarasota

December 5, 2020: CoolToday Park presents a Holiday Benefit Concert for The Venice Symphony featuring a live performance of holiday classics by The Venice Symphony Brass Quintet and the premiere of “Safe at Home for the Holidays,” led by Music Director Troy Quinn, on the Jumbotron. This virtual concert features beloved holiday music and a reading of “The Night Before Christmas” narrated by Jamal Sarikoki. Guests will be greeted by The Venice Symphony Youth Orchestra, who will be playing outside the gate. This concert is part of a two day long annual Jingle Jam festival hosted by the Atlanta Braves at Cool Today Park. Events include carriage rides, a holiday market, games and crafts for children and adults, appearances by Santa and Ms. Clause and a golf cart parade sponsored by Caddy Carts. 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 7 p.m. $10 Adult General Admission, $5 Children 12U General Admission. December 5 - 6, 2020: The 2nd annual Jingle Jam event takes place at CoolToday Park and you can enjoy A non-profit Christmas Tree decorating contest, Caddy Carts Golf Cart Parade of Lights (REGISTER YOUR CART TO PARTICIPATE), Virtual Tomahawk 5K, Santa & Mrs. Claus  - including photo op's for kids, Holiday market, Festive Food & Drink Specials, Holiday activities. December 5 - 12, 2020: Sarasota Christmas presents "The Wonder of Christmas!” This year their Sarasota Christmas production will take on a new look and new location! They want everyone to be able to celebrate and enjoy a safe and family friendly evening together, so they've moved their production outside around a giant Christmas tree. Their production team, including adults, students, and children, will join together to bring you an enjoyable and meaningful start to the Christmas season! This year's production is free and will last approximately 25 minutes. No tickets or reservations are required. Come early and enjoy some of your Christmas music favorites by their big band. December 6 - April 25, 2021: This concert season, Sarasota Orchestra expands its community engagement tour known as “SO on the Road” to bring live music into local parks and cultural destinations. While admission is free, attendees will be required to register to hold a seat at performances. Registration will open on Eventbrite one month prior to concerts. Sunday afternoons at 2:30 p.m. December through April. Various outdoor locations around Sarasota and Bradenton parks.

December 7, 2019: Canceled for 2020. Museum is set to reopen January 5, 2021. Enjoy Maritime by Candlelight. During this free, family fun evening, experience "Old Florida" through the lens of Florida's maritime history! Bring your family for a festive photo op and a visit with Fisherman Santa. December 7, 2019: Pending for 2020 depending on COVID-19 conditions. Check out some heavenly bodies during Sidewalk Astronomy courtesy of the local group of Deep Sky Observers. Telescopes will be up and available for public viewing from sunset. - 10 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (weather permitting). Celery Fields / Sarasota Audubon. The Celery Fields, 6893 Palmer Blvd, Sarasota, FL. December 7, 2019: Canceled for 2020. Celebrate the Holiday Season as The Manatee Community Concert Band performs their Annual Holiday Concert. December 7 - 8, 2019: Canceled for 2020. Entre Nous Club of Manatee will hold its 42nd Annual Holiday Tour of Homes which will showcase four beautifully decorated homes in Northwest Bradenton and Palmetto for the community to enjoy. This year, the self-driven tour offers an interior view of four amazing homes each uniquely styled by current owners. A historic waterfront Victorian home in Palmetto, a mid-century ranch home on Riverview Blvd., a stunning 4 bedroom with a wrap-around porch and guest house on McLewis Bayou, and a contemporary home with a European flair and impressive orchid garden located between Warner's Bayou and Manatee River in Northwest Bradenton. After visiting one of the homes, you can step outside to enjoy the tasty treats prepared and served by the Club's Life Members. Additionally, please stroll through a variety of vendors at Elf Alley, as well as, try your luck at the wine raffle and quilt raffle.House Tour tickets are $20 and may be used both days.11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

December 8, 2019: Canceled for 2020. Take in Christmas of long ago at The Gamble Plantation Christmas Open House and travel back to the Old South during the day through the many lifestyle demonstrations of that time period. Gamble Mansion will be lavishly decorated in the Christmas spirit, allowing you a special look at a 19th century Christmas. The Ladies of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will be wearing costumes reminiscent of the era of the 1840’s through 1870’s to add that special touch of authenticity to the day. There will be music, crafts and fun for everyone. December 8, 2019: Canceled for 2020 due to COVID 19 concerns. It's the 8th Annual Jingle Paws Jubilee in a new location along with adoptions, gifts for people and pets from vendors, pictures with Santa, Animal Readings and Pet Blessings, Live Music, Raffle, Prizes, a Doggie Diva Holiday Costume Contest, Parade and more. Check out the Jazz Club of Sarasota Monday Night Jazz at the Florida Studio Theatre Cabaret Series with Diego Figueriedo. Brazilian born guitarist, Diego Figueiredo, has played in more than 60 countries around the world. He is the winner of several important competitions including The Montreux Jazz Competition, and the VISA Prize. The crowd-pleasing parade was started in 1986 and usually takes place the second Saturday evening of December, starting around 6 p.m. The boat parade starts from City Island and will be just enough to help put you in the spirit of the season. December 12, 2020: Manatee County's annual A Night Before Christmas features Santa Claus visiting G.T. Bray Park to meet with all the children. December 12, 2020: In light of recent circumstances and with the support of our community leaders and government officials, the  Manatee River Holiday Boat Parade committee has decided to cancel the 2020 Holiday Boat Parade and are working hard to make the 2021 Holiday Boat Parade one worth the wait. Mark your calendar for December 11, 2021 where we look forward to lighting up the river once again. Enjoy the sights of the 22nd Annual Manatee River Holiday Boat Parade. At dusk the lighted vessels will assemble near Snead Island and the parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. and proceed past the Bradenton Yacht Club to Riverhouse Reef and Grill / Regatta Pointe Marina and then turn south at the Green Bridge and proceed onward to Pier 22 / Twin Dolphin Marina. Boaters will compete for cash prizes in several categories. Judging will be at several points along the route and the awards ceremony and after party for entrants is at the Bradenton Yacht Club. Public viewing sites are available from the Green Bridge Pier, Riverhouse Reef & Grill, along the Riverwalk in Bradenton and at Pier 22. Once to the main North/South ICW we will head south to the Ringling Bridge. Once to the bridge, we will then U-Turn to head north up the ICW hugging the east side. December 16, 2020 - January 3, 2021: Check out "A Digital Old-Fashioned Christmas" by Manatee Village Historical Park. Normally, the museum holds an annual event called “An Old Florida Christmas” on site. Due to COVID-19, this year will be different. While the museum will not be having an in-person event, they are excited to offer a different, free digital event called “A Digital Old-Fashioned Christmas.” This special event for 2020 will include a story time, a craft, and a recipe. The public is invited to view “A Digital Old-Fashioned Christmas” from the comfort of their own homes. Those who access the digital event will be able to enjoy the Manatee Village Historical Park version of “The Night Before Christmas” which includes a funny twist. Museum staff will show how to make orange & clove pomanders, an easy Holiday decoration that smells fresh and spicy. December 17 - 19, 2020: It's National Wreaths Across America Day at Sarasota National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes. This year, the National Wreaths Across America Day ceremony for Sarasota National Cemetery will be a private ceremony. They are actively monitoring the requirements set forth by county health officials relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and have made necessary modifications to our plans for the laying of Veterans wreaths according to the mandate of the National Cemetery Administration. December 25, 2020: The annual Pinecraft Christmas Parade usually draws over 1,000 spectators to this Sarasota Amish and Mennonite Community for the parade, traditionally held on Christmas afternoon, winding through the neighborhood streets. Started by local resident Mike Miller in 1999, it's the biggest event of the year in the neighborhood. Assemble in parking lot at Der Dutchman restaurant, 3713 Bahia Vista Street, beginning at 1:00 p.m. or right soon after lunch. December 31, 2020: Traditional Bayfront Fireworks canceled for 2020. Marina Jacks will be open. December 31, 2019: It's the 9th Annual Fireworks on the Bay hosted by Marina Jack. Dramatic Fireworks Show traditionally at midnight and live music along with special dinner and entertainment packages available for purchase throughout the day and evening. Viewing is free from anywhere downtown including Bayfront Park and Island Park. This event benefits the Suncoast Charities for Children. Fireworks at Midnight.
