December 1 - 6, 2026: Selby Gardens is excited to present The Orchid Show 2026 at their Downtown Sarasota campus. This year’s show will feature a creative collaboration between the team at Selby Gardens and artist Christian Sampson, known for creating playful installations of color, light, and form using glass, acrylic, and dichroic film. A selection of Christian’s site-specific works will be exhibited in the Richard and Ellen Sandor Museum of Botany & the Arts. A number of these works draw inspiration from Selby Gardens’ outstanding orchid collection, which is the finest scientifically documented collection of its type in the world. Additional works by Christian will be sited in the gardens and in the Display Conservatory, where they will enrich a stunning display of living orchids and other epiphytes, or air plants. December 1 - 31, 2026:  It's the annual “FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS” with a display of more than ONE MILLION LIGHTS and themed decorations inside and outside at Fisherman's Village. Parking and admission are free. The festival of Lights may be viewed 7 days a week during all hours of operation. Bring your camera as there are photo op areas you won’t want to miss! Fisherman's Village, 1200 W. December 1, 2026 - January 4, 2027: Yes! Wonderland is back with Nik Wallenda and Home for the Holidays! A breathtaking holiday circus spectacular of faith, family, and wonder, and Sarasota’s own legendary Nik Wallenda for a show that promises a blend of thrilling circus acts, mesmerizing aerial performances, and uplifting holiday storytelling. December 1, 2026 - January 3, 2027: Lace up your skates for some wintertime fun because a real ice rink is back at UTC! The Rink is located in the West District at UTC, right next to Ford’s Garage. Ticket Prices: Individual tickets: $16 - $20 per skater. Tickets include ice skate rental. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. All hours are subject to weather and rink conditions. You will be sent an email if your ice skating reservation must be rescheduled. In case of severe weather that causes a public safety concern, skaters may be asked to leave the outdoor event. Mon – Fri | 4 PM – 10 PM. Sat – Sun | 11 AM – 10 PM. School Holidays | 11 AM – 10 PM. Holiday hours: Thanksgiving Day | 11 AM – 6 PM, Christmas Eve | 11 AM – 6 PM, Christmas Day | 2 PM – 8 PM. December 2 - 6, 2026: It's the third annual European Holiday Market now with an added day for optimal cultural immersion. Holiday shoppers can explore a cultivated European holiday inspired experience featuring unique merchants offering handmade crafts, culinary delights, interactive attractions as well as a visit from Old Saint Nicholas. This year’s market has more than doubled its merchant stalls with more than 80 merchants, new and returning. European-inspired dishes and beverages will be offered Celebrating the spirit of the season on Florida’s West Coast, the European Holiday Market will evoke the traditions, sights, sounds, and tastes that make this time of year so magical. Advanced tickets are $5 and available online or at the Manatee Performing Arts Center Box Office. Starting December 2nd, tickets will be $10 online, at the box office, or at the door. December 2 - 22, 2026: Take a ride on the North Pole Express, a 45 minute ride from Parrish, FL to the North Pole. Upon arrival, everyone will detrain at our special North Pole station where Santa awaits to visit with every child. During your stay a variety of entertainment, activities, camp fires and all the hot chocolate and cookies you care to eat are included with every train ticket. December 3, 2026: The Annual Christmas Walk takes place in Historic Downtown Venice. December 4, 2026: The Jazz Club of Sarasota presents Jazz on a Friday Afternoon at Two featuring Keven Aland and Hot Club SRQ which was warmly received at their initial headlining concert at Jazz at Two last season. .The band performs Gypsy Jazz, music that is deeply rooted in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. The 48th Annual Holiday Night of Lights will magically transform St. Armands Circle into your favorite Holiday destination on the Gulf Coast of Florida. December 4 - 17, 2026: It's the 7th annual UTC Festival of Trees, a showcase and silent auction of holiday trees creatively decorated by local charities. Spectators are invited to pay to vote for their favorites and bid in the online silent auction for a chance to take a tree home. Tree entries will be displayed December 4 - 17, 2026. 100% of the money raised goes back to each participating charity, and additional prizes are awarded to the top three entries with the most votes.  A kick of party will be held December 5. December 5, 2026: It's the 8th Annual Braves Tomahawk 5K, Run a quick 1 mile around the concourse of Cool Today Park! Enjoy a behind the scenes route through the stadium grounds. See your finish on the giant videoboard as you make your way around the warning track. Stick around after the race for a plated breakfast at the Superior Pools Tomahawk Tiki Bar & Grill including 2 tickets for your choice of soda or beer. December 5, 2026: It's the North Port Poinsettia Parade. Get ready to “Sleigh the Night Away” at the annual Poinsettia Parade & Festival. This North Port tradition brings neighbors together to celebrate the season, support local performers and organizations and create holiday memories with the people who make the community feel like home. The festivities take place beginning at 3 p.m. with the Poinsettia Festival at the City Center Front Green. Come early and make an afternoon of it before the parade begins. Cheer on local performers, browse the merchandise vendors and enjoy food and seasonal treats available for purchase from mobile food vendors while the excitement builds around City Center.The Poinsettia Parade will start at 5 p.m. and march south down Sumter Boulevard from Sylvania Avenue through the City Center Campus, ending at the Festival (a prime location to catch the parade). Floats adorned with poinsettias, decorated vehicles, and escorted by North Port Fire Rescue, Jolly Ole St. Nick will make a special appearance in the parade. December 5, 2026: The Venice Christmas Boat Parade starts at 6 p.m. (rain date is the next day) along the Intracoastal Waterway in Venice starting at the Albee Road Bridge in Nokomis and moving south along the waterway with turnaround before the Circus Bridge in Venice. Spectators line the north (at South Nokomis Beach) and south (at North Venice Beach) jetties and throughout the downtown and Venice waterfront areas to the judging area near the south Circus Bridge for a view of the brightly lit and colorfully decorated “Christmas Boats.” 6 p.m. Admission is free. December 5, 2026: The 31st Annual Sarasota Holiday Parade "America 250" takes place in downtown Sarasota on the first Saturday evening of December. With thousands participating and even more thousands viewing, the parade kicks off at 7 p.m. with decorated floats, live marching bands and the guest of honor "rounding" out the parade, Santa Claus. December 5, 2026: It's the Bradenton Winter Wonderland. Winter Wonderland transforms Bradenton's historic Old Main Street into a festive holiday destination filled with live music, local shopping, family-friendly activities, and plenty of holiday magic. With three stages featuring talented performers from throughout Manatee County, you’ll hear everything from holiday favorites and live music to dance performances, and larger ensemble shows as you make your way through the event. There’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the evening. Take a ride down the Snow Slide, test your skills with carnival games, get creative with holiday crafts, or get your face painted with a fun holiday twist. Be sure to bring your camera, too! With Anna and Elsa, Santa and Mrs. Claus, festive photo backdrops, and even a lineup of Corvettes, there are plenty of opportunities to capture some holiday memories along the way. December 5 - 6, 2025: TBA for 2026. It's A Holly Jolly Village Christmas where you can experience the magic of the season in Bradenton’s Village of the Arts! Step into a Christmas wonderland and find the perfect gifts for everyone on your list! Stroll through charming, festively decorated shops, each filled with holiday spirit, as the South East High School choir and the Sentimental Gents Barbershop Quartet fill the air with joyful tunes on Friday evening! On Saturday, December 6, special guests Mayor Gene Brown and his lovely wife will be in the Village as Santa and Mrs. Claus, ready for photo ops, handing out presents, and soaking up the holiday charm as they stroll through the Village. December 5 - 6, 2026: It's Lakewood Ranch's Holiday of the Arts Festival! Enjoy browsing and purchasing fine arts and crafts from a fascinating and diverse palette of original, handmade arts, crafts and specialty products by artisans from across America. December 5 - 6, 2026: It's the Mystic Faire featuring everything metaphysical. Billed as the largest psychic fair in southwest Florida it will feature over 75 exhibitors and more than 25 psychics. December 6, 2025: TBA for 2026.The SRQ Vets and VFW Post 3233 are holding their 7th Annual Christmas Toy Drive Breakfast with Santa. Bring a new, unwrapped toy valued at $15 or more and enjoy a delicious breakfast on us. Prefer to donate instead? A $15 contribution covers your breakfast and helps support local veterans and families this holiday season. This family-friendly event is a great way to celebrate the season while giving back. December 25, 2026: The annual Pinecraft Christmas Parade usually draws over 1,000 spectators to this Sarasota Amish and Mennonite Community for the parade, traditionally held on Christmas afternoon, winding through the neighborhood streets. Started by local resident Mike Miller in 1999, it's the biggest event of the year in the neighborhood.
