December 1 - 7, 2025: Selby Gardens is excited to collaborate with British contemporary artist, Rebecca Louise Law, on The Orchid Show 2025 at the Downtown Sarasota campus. Exploring the theme of survival, the exhibition will feature an immersive art installation of dried flowers by Law in the Museum of Botany & the Arts. Accompanying Law’s installation will be a striking presentation of living orchids and other plants in the Display Conservatory, designed by Selby Gardens’ horticulture team. The spectacular results will blur the lines between art and nature in unexpected ways Selby Gardens is home to the finest scientifically documented collection of living orchids in the world. December 1 - 31, 2025: It's the annual “FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS” with a display of more than ONE MILLION LIGHTS and themed decorations inside and outside at Fisherman's Village. Parking and admission are free. The festival of Lights may be viewed 7 days a week during all hours of operation. Bring your camera as there are photo op areas you won’t want to miss! December 1, 2025 - January 4, 2026: Yes! Wonderland is back with BELIEVE!, a dazzling, never-before-seen production. This year’s show features fan favorites like the hilarious Johnny Rockett, the electrifying Ty McFarlan, and Sarasota’s own legendary Nik Wallenda for a show that promises a blend of thrilling circus acts, mesmerizing aerial performances, and uplifting holiday storytelling. December 1, 2025 - January 4, 2026: Lace up your skates for some wintertime fun because a real ice rink is back at UTC! The Rink is located in the West District at UTC, right next to Ford’s Garage. Ticket Prices: Individual tickets: $16 - $20 per skater. Tickets include ice skate rental. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. All hours are subject to weather and rink conditions. You will be sent an email if your ice skating reservation must be rescheduled. In case of severe weather that causes a public safety concern, skaters may be asked to leave the outdoor event. December 3 - 22, 2025: Take a ride on the North Pole Express, a 35 minute ride from Parrish, FL to the North Pole. Upon arrival, everyone will detrain at our special North Pole station where Santa awaits to visit with every child. During your stay a variety of entertainment, activities, camp fires and all the hot chocolate and cookies you care to eat are included with every train ticket. December 4, 2025: The Annual Christmas Walk takes place in Historic Downtown Venice. December 5 - 18, 2025: It's the 6th annual UTC Festival of Trees. The annual UTC Festival of Trees is a showcase and silent auction of holiday trees creatively decorated by local charities. Spectators are invited to pay to vote for their favorites and bid in the online silent auction for a chance to take a tree home. Tree entries will be displayed December 5 - 18, 2025. 100% of the money raised goes back to each participating charity, and additional prizes are awarded to the top three entries with the most votes. December 6, 2025: It's the North Port Poinsettia Parade. The Poinsettia Parade will start at 5 p.m. and march south down Sumter Boulevard from Sylvania Avenue through the City Center Campus, ending at the Festival (a prime location to catch the parade). Floats adorned with poinsettias, decorated vehicles, and escorted by North Port Fire Rescue, Jolly Ole St. Nick will make a special appearance in the parade. The parade will end at the annual Poinsettia Festival. The Festival will include a tree lighting ceremony and will take place throughout the grounds of the City Center Campus, including on the Front Green and inside City Hall from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.. December 6, 2025: It's the Annual Christmas Jeep Convoy put on by the Sarasota and Bradenton Jeep Clubs. Be sure to deck out your Jeep with your favorite lights and decorations - the more the merrier! They'll meet at De Soto Square Mall in Bradenton starting at 5 p.m. The convoy will pull out at 7 pm. December 6, 2025: The Venice Christmas Boat Parade starts at 6 p.m. (rain date is the next day) along the Intracoastal Waterway in Venice starting at the Albee Road Bridge in Nokomis and moving south along the waterway with turnaround before the Circus Bridge in Venice. Spectators line the north (at South Nokomis Beach) and south (at North Venice Beach) jetties and throughout the downtown and Venice waterfront areas to the judging area near the south Circus Bridge for a view of the brightly lit and colorfully decorated “Christmas Boats.” 6 p.m. Admission is free. December 6, 2025: It's the Holiday Boat Parade at Jiggs Landing. Since the 1970s, neighbors and friends have gathered at Jiggs to light up the water with holiday cheer. Decorate your boat, grab your crew, and join the tradition! Boats shove off at sunset (6:00 PM). Route: Circle the reservoir, then cruise upstream to Linger Lodge. Live music by Victoria Ginty Band at 3 PM at Jiggs, followed by the boat parade launch at 6 PM. Look out for Santa and the Mrs. Jigg's Landing, 6106 63rd St E, Bradenton, FL. December 6, 2025: The 29th Annual Sarasota Holiday Parade takes place in downtown Sarasota on the first Saturday evening of December. With thousands participating and even more thousands viewing, the parade kicks off at 7 p.m. with decorated floats, live marching bands and the guest of honor "rounding" out the parade, Santa Claus. December 6, 2025: It's the 7th Annual Braves Tomahawk 5K, Run a quick 1 mile around the concourse of Cool Today Park! You'll enjoy a rollicking flat course along the roads near the park, a behind the scenes path through the stadium grounds as you make your way to the field. You'll loop around the warning track on field and see your 3rd base finish on the giant 40'X80' JumboTron. Your post race breakfast at the Tomahawk Tiki Bar plus 2 chips for your choice of soda or beer all included with your registration. The Tiki bar will also have Mimosas, Bloody Mary's and the full bar selection available for purchase. Bring the family for a fun day at the park. December 25, 2025: The annual Pinecraft Christmas Parade usually draws over 1,000 spectators to this Sarasota Amish and Mennonite Community for the parade, traditionally held on Christmas afternoon, winding through the neighborhood streets. Started by local resident Mike Miller in 1999, it's the biggest event of the year in the neighborhood. Assemble in parking lot at Der Dutchman restaurant, 3713 Bahia Vista Street, beginning at 1:00 p.m. or right soon after lunch. Parade starts after that about 3 p.m. Bring a lawn chair for a sidewalk seat. Anyone is welcome to ride in parade.
