June 1, 2018: Enjoy Live Music in the Park at Cafe in the Park with Rebecca Pulley. Food service: 6 p.m., Music: 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Free admission. June 1, 2018: Lakewood Ranch presents Music on Main the first Friday of each month from 6p.m  - 9 p.m! Beer, wine and food available. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. Overflow parking is available at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. Lakewood Ranch is off University Parkway east of I-75.

June 1 - 2, 2018: You are invited to Manatee Village Historical Park’s Afternoon Tea to be held at Charms of Leffingwell in the heart of historic Ellenton. Charms of Leffingwell is an antiques gallery and tea room located in the historic Mathews House (1905). The staff of Manatee Village will open the tea with a short talk about the role that tea rooms played in the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Table decorations will include trivia cards about the history of tea and suffragette history. Dress-up is encouraged. There will be a best hat contest with prizes. These afternoon teas will include freshly brewed hot tea of your choice (over 20 types to chose from!), homemade scones, Devonshire cream, pastries, and savories. The tea will begin at 11 a.m. This is a ticketed event with limited space. Tickets are $20.00. Tickets are on sale from May 1 through May 22, and must be purchased by cash or check. June 2, 2018: Enjoy the family festival World Oceans Day at Mote Aquarium. With games and crafts, marine science and more to learn it's sure to be a fun and informative few hours and will spotlight the ocean's deep connection to the human spirit and the boundless inspirational power of our natural world's greatest resource. June 2, 2018: Yo-ho, mateys! Bring the kids to Snook Adams Kids Day for a fun celebration to end the school year. The Anna Maria Island Privateers annual fest includes games and prizes, a treasure hunt, pirates, free pizza, hot dogs and drinks. Plus you can see their pirate ship up close and hop aboard. June 2 - 3, 2018: It's the 7th Annual Suncoast Tarpon Shootout Tournament with 4 divisions: one pro, one amateur, one individual (kayak, fly, paddle board) and one for selected veterans. Prizes and entry fees vary from division to division. Captain's meeting is June 1 at 7 p.m. at Hooters in Sarasota.The tournament’s goal is to raise $30,000 for 4 charities: Valor Service Dogs, Heroes on the Water, All Children’s Hospital, and Operation Second Chance.  Click here for entry fees, prizes and more info.

June 2 - 3, 2018: Postponed from last weekend due to the weather, it's the inaugural St. Armand's Seafood & Music Festival taking place in St. Armand's Circle Park featuring seafood prepared fresh on site along with drinks. Enjoy your foodie experience while jamming to live musical performances on stage by some of Florida’s and the region’s top musical talents. Music will be from such genres as R&B, jazz, classical, calypso, reggae and more. Performers this year are, on Saturday: Nostaljah, Hard Luck Society, Kettle of Fish and Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues.  Sunday performers are: Act 3, RJ Howson, Sarasota Steel Pan Band and Twinkle & Rock Soul Radio. There will also be a marketplace of arts and crafts exhibitors and select from a variety of fine products. While at the event, the Humane Society, co-sponsor, will have their "Big Mac" mobile adoption center onsite. Free general admission. VIP tent admission $130. Various food & drink prices. June 4 - 24, 2018: The Sarasota Orchestra presents The Sarasota Music Festival. From Artisit Showcases, Friday Festivals, Saturday Symphonies, Rising Stars, Special Recitals, and more, there's lots to take in. For three weeks you can enjoy the best up and coming young musicians from around the world along with chamber music, master classes and concerts.Enjoy classical music at its finest. June 5 - 6, 2018: The Kids Summer Beach Runs are 1-mile beach runs held every Tuesday (through Aug. 7) at Siesta Beach on Siesta Key near the pavilion, and every Wednesday (through Aug. 8) at Brohard Beach (1600 Harbor Drive) next to the Venice Fishing Pier, near Fins at Sharky's, Venice. For ages 1 - 17, participation ribbons are awarded along with a free ice pop each week. Registration at each location begins at 5:30 p.m. and the beach run starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. Free. The runs are a popular summer event combining exercise and fun. Complete four runs and earn a free custom T-shirt along with other prizes. More at 941-861-5000.

June 8, 2018: Unfortunately due to the summer construction in downtown Venice their Free Music Friday Night summer concerts in Centennial Park are on hiatus until November, 2018.

June 8 - 10, 2018: Enjoy the Bradenton Boat Show with a huge selection of new boats, boating accessories, fishing gear and more. Plus the Captain Joe Fishing School where you can learn from expert anglers. Admission: $5, 12 and under are free. Free parking. June 9, 2018: Take part in the 2nd Annual World Oceans Day Festival, a fun, family friendly event celebrating our salty waters. A variety of ocean themed activities will be available for participants to learn about World Oceans Day. Dip nets into the water and discover the creatures beneath the waves. Learn amazing facts about our large wildlife—like sea turtles. Build oyster mats and explore the history of fishing in Manatee County. Hosted by Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources Department and Emerson Point Preserve. 9 a.m. - Noon. Emerson Point Preserve, 5801 17th St W, Palmetto, FL. June 9, 2018: State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), will host the 18th Annual Suncoast Student Film Festival. The film festival, sponsored by SCF’s Film Club, showcases SCF student productions from Fall 2017 and Spring 2018. Categories in the showcase include narrative, documentary and experimental. June 9 - 10, 2018: The 17th annual St. Armand's Craft Festival is held around circle park. You may view and purchase all kinds of artistic works from over 175 artisans with everything from paintings to jewelry, ceramics, pottery and much more. It's a fun event to stroll along through and look at all the uniquely creative ideas on display. St. Armand's Circle is just over the Ringling Bridge from downtown Sarasota. It's free and there's lots of free parking too. It's from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days.

June 10, 2018: It's Sharky's Sunset Beach Bash to celebrate being voted #1 on a list of Top Florida Beach Bars. The celebration will include free drink samples, food and drink specials, and much more fun. The event will also feature live music. Tickets are $5 and proceeds will be donated to Venice Area Beautification Inc. and Mote Marine Laboratory. 5 p.m. - Sunset. Sharky’s on the Pier, 1600 Harbor Drive South in Venice, FL.

June 12 - July 28, 2018: The Ringling Museum presents their Summer Circus Spectacular. It's presented in collaboration with The Circus Arts Conservatory of Sarasota. Various show days and times. June 16, 2018: Find fun and more at the 13th Annual Boots vs Badges Competition for Suncoast Blood Bank taking place with a blood donation competition. It's the North Port Police vs the North Port Fire Dept. to see who can get more donations for the sun coast. In addition there's also games, activities and family friendly fun, a photo booth and emergency vehicles on display for all to see. 10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  4970 City Hall Blvd, North Port, FL

June 16, 2016: It's the resurfacing of "Party on the Pass"  to honor and enjoy our shared incredible natural resource with your summer water crew. It's our time, let's have fun, keep it real and leave it cleaner than when we arrived. 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Big Pass Sandbar off Siesta Key's Shell Beach in Big Sarasota Pass across from South Lido Beach.

June 16 - 17, 2018: See creativity on display at the 26th annual Downtown Venice Craft Festival. What's featured? Stained glass, photography, personalized products for children and dogs alike, and much more! Stroll through the Green Market for plants, handmade soaps, tangy BBQ sauces and live orchids. Traditionally held on the third Saturday and Sunday of June in downtown Venice, Florida, the hours for the free event are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. On Miami Avenue W. in downtown Venice. June 17, 2018: Enjoy the season finale of the Selby Garden Music Series with live music by Diego Figueiredo with Chiaraizzi combining Jazz, Bossa Nova and Classical. Bring your lawn chair or blanket. June 19, 2018: The Orioles invite fans of all ages to enjoy summer baseball at Ed Smith Stadium as the Gulf Coast League Orioles take the Main Field for 28 home games beginning Tuesday, June 19. The 28-game home slate also includes family-friendly events with community partners, giveaways, and daily food specials. Admission and parking are free, though fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item to benefit  All Faiths Food Bank. Special events begin on Saturday, June 23, with “Summerfest,” a free, family fun day with games, giveaways, and chances to win premium prizes. Fans can test their skills at the giant sports inflatable, speed pitch, “Pitch for Prizes,” corn hole, and Giant Jenga. Additional activities include caricature art, face painting, tic tac toe, a free photo booth, and more. Kids 14 and under receive a free popsicle. June 22, 2018: Enjoy an evening on the bay front and some free live music as the 17th annual summer music fest kicks off summer with "Friday Fest" at the Van Wezel with live music by Jah Movement. Fronted by hometown hero and vocalist extraordinaire Shantel Norman, Jah Movement plays top 40, Funk, Soul, R&B and Calypso Dance music. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, take in the music along with the beautiful Sarasota sunset and enjoy food and beverage from local vendors. Outside food and drink is prohibited. June 23, 2018: Enjoy an up close view of a heavenly body, the planet Saturn. Courtesy of the Local Group of Deep Sky Observers, telescopes will be set up at Celery Fields for free veiwing of the celestial body. In case of rain or clouds the event will take place June 30. June 23 - July 4, 2018: One of the biggest Sarasota happenings of the year is the Suncoast Offshore Powerboat Racing Festival. The Festival is held annually. This race between million-dollar cigarette boats off one of our finest Gulf of Mexico Beaches is one of the must-see Sarasota happenings of the year. June 24, 2016: It's the 34th Annual Grand Prix FUN RUN Hosted by Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix. Enjoy a great day of boating and fun in support of charity! Stops include marina Jack, Seafood Shack, The Salty Dog (City Island), The Bridge Tender Inn * Dockside Bar.  All types of powerboats, leisure craft vessels, jet skis, and personal watercraft are welcome. All proceeds to benefit Suncoast Charities for Children. Registration: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Marina Jack, Sarasota Bayfront. Shotgun start at 11:00 am. Bikini contest downtown Sarasota Racing Fest

June 29, 2018: The original "Miss Super Boat Grand Prix” Bikini Contest is now the Miss Powerboat P1 Swimwear Contest. It will take place during the "Boats by the Bay" Party in the Pits event. Following 2 rounds of earlier competition; one at 6:30 p.m. which is designated as "Club Wear," the other at 8:30 p.m. for Swimsuits, the crowning of Miss Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix will take place at 10:30 p.m. The contest is open to the general public to participate in. Past year prizes were: 1st Place $1,000, 2nd Place $750, 3rd Place $500, 4th Place $150, 5th Place $100. Van Wezel Parking Lot, 1105 10th St, Sarasota, FL.
