June 1 - 3, 2023: Break out the big hair and acid-washed denim, Laser Light Nights are back at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature! Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night from May 25 through September 2, we are rocking out to some of your favorite artists in the Planetarium! A variety of food options and drinks are available for purchase onsite with cash or card. Tickets for shows between May 25 and July 15 will go on sale at 12:00 PM EST on May 1, 2023. June 2, 2023:Lakewood Ranch presents Music on Main the first Friday of each month from 6 p.m  - 9 p.m. Modern Measure Band will fill the air with Latin, country, Motown, pop and rock music and the event will benefit Selah Freedom. Beer, wine and food available. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. Overflow parking is available at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. Lakewood Ranch is off University Parkway east of I-75.

June 4, 2023:  A fan favorite returns to CoolToday Park! Summer Movie Nights will be held at the ballpark on most Sundays in June and July  The first movie night is Sunday June 5 at 6 p.m. with a showing of "Shazam! Fury of the Gods." The movies will be shown on the scoreboard and will begin at 5 PM each night. So be sure to check out all the fun. Tickets: 3 & under free, 4 - 9 $3, and 10+ & adults $7. June 6 - 7, 2023: One of the Annual Summer Events in Sarasota: The Kids Summer Beach Runs are 1-mile beach runs held every Tuesday (June 6 - July 25, 2023) at Siesta Beach on Siesta Key near the pavilion, and every Wednesday (June  7- July 26, 2023) at Brohard Beach (1600 Harbor Drive) next to the Venice Fishing Pier, near Fins at Sharky's, Venice. This one-mile fun run for kids is a summer favorite and a great opportunity for families to exercise together and have fun at the beach! Weekly registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with race time at 6:30 p.m. Kids receive a participation ribbon at each run. Complete four runs and earn a free custom t-shirt. No runs the week of July 4th. The runs are a popular summer event combining exercise and fun. Ages 1 - 17. Free. 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. More at 941-861-5000.

June 8 - 11, 2023: It's the US Rowing SE Youth National Championships. The championship serves as the premier youth rowing event in the United States with approximately 1,500 athletes competing in more than 350 crews, representing some 150 teams from across the country – all vying for national titles in 18 boat classes. June 8 - 24, 2023: The Sarasota Orchestra presents The Sarasota Music Festival. From Artist Showcases, Friday Festivals, Saturday Symphonies, Rising Stars, Special Recitals, and more, there's lots to take in. For three weeks you can enjoy the best up and coming young musicians from around the world along with chamber music, master classes and concerts. Enjoy classical music at its finest. Various venues, dates and times.

June 9, 2023: It's the Free Music Friday Night Concert with live music at Centennial Park featuring Rising Vibes. Attendees are asked to follow current CDC guidelines. Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs and blankets. No alcohol is permitted in Centennial Park. Free. 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Free and open to the public. Centennial Park, Downtown Venice, FL.

June 9 - 11, 2023: Enjoy the Bradenton Boat Show with a huge selection of new boats, boating accessories, fishing gear and more. Plus the Captain Joe Fishing School where you can learn from expert anglers. Admission: $6, 12 and under are free. Free parking. June 9 - August 12, 2023: The Ringling Museum presents their Summer Circus Spectacular. It's presented in collaboration with The Circus Arts Conservatory of Sarasota. The Summer Circus Spectacular highlights some of the finest circus acts from around the world .Show times are 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturdays. June 10 - 11, 2023:  The 21st annual St. Armand's Craft Festival is held around circle park. You may view and purchase all kinds of artistic works from over 175 artisans with everything from paintings to jewelry, ceramics, pottery and much more. It's a fun event to stroll along through and look at all the uniquely creative ideas on display. St. Armand's Circle is just over the Ringling Bridge from downtown Sarasota. June 15, 2024: You're invited to Repticon Sarasota 2024, an expo highlighting reptile shows, events, activities and sales. You'll have a chance to see live reptiles from around the world plus the chance to purchase pets and supplies direct from experts. Saturday  10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Various ticket prices on line. June 16, 2023: It's back! The Van Wezel's Friday Fest is returning this summer! The first Friday Fest will feature Kettle of Fish. Kettle of Fish plays festival music that features blues, soul, and funk with the energy of rock ‘n roll. They make old songs new again, and their originals sound like classics. Kettle of Fish is one of the hottest live acts in southwest Florida, headlining to thousands, and opening for such acts as Eddie Money, Marshall Tucker, Elvin Bishop, Dickey Betts, and many more.Free admission. Bring blankets or lawn chairs, take in the music and the sunset, and enjoy food and beverage from local vendors. Friday Fest takes place in “rain or shine.” In the event of inclement weather, the festival will move indoors to our grand foyer or main stage of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. June 17, 2023: Fisherman's Village has announced their first ever Blues Fest which will feature the heart and soul of blues music from 12 p.m. - 10 p.m. and showcasing the talent of: The Joey Gilmore Band 12 noon – 3 p.m., The Dottie Kelly Band 4 - 6:30 p.m, and Rockin’ Jake 7:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. on the Dry Beach. Stained glass, photography, personalized products for children and dogs alike, and much more! Stroll through the Green Market for plants, handmade soaps, tangy BBQ sauces and live orchids. June 18, 2023: Check out Oscar Scherer State Park's Orienteering Event with 3 self guided courses and compasses available for your use. Beginner Course: Simple visual course for young beginners, sunny area. Novice Course: All ages. Simple course, sunny area. Challenging Course: Start times at 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Please arrive early. Ages - 8 and up. Come prepared! The Challenging Course is off- trail, so wear hiking boots, long pants, and a hat. Bring plenty of water. Sunscreen and bug spray also recommended. (Orienteering is a group of sports that require navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain whilst moving at speed. Participants are given a topographical map, usually a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find control points.). Free park admission for registered participants. Register today. June 23 - July 4, 2023: Two of the biggest Sarasota happenings of the year are  the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix AND the Suncoast Summer Fest with many of the same events and still benefiting Suncoast Charities for Children! The two events are held annually. The race between million-dollar cigarette boats off one of our finest Gulf of Mexico Beaches, Lido Beach, is one of the must-see Sarasota events of the year, You don't need a ticket for the races and you can come as you are. It's smokin' hot! The Powerboat P1-produced race is set for July 1-2 and is third of eight races in the 2023 American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship Series. June 28, 2023: It's by invitation only, the Friendliest Catch Fishing Tournament for the physically and mentally challenged. This event is limited to clients with special needs who receive services from local non-profit agencies supported by Suncoast Charities for Children, the organizers of the annual Suncoast Summer fest, formerly known as the Offshore Racing Festival. June 30, 2023: The The 39th Annual Sarasota P1 Offshore Powerboat Grand Prix will kick off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening with a Pit Party featuring live music from Andy Velo, live remote radio broadcast, food trucks and local vendors. June 30 - July 1, 2023: One of the events at the newly named Suncoast Summer Fest, formerly known as the Offshore Racing Festival, is The “Waves & Wheels" Party. Your ticket includes a full open bar, food, casino-style gaming ($1,000 free play included), music, and raffles! The next day drive your car, boat, or motorcycle during our Fun Run where you can roll the dice to earn points. The run starts at Marina Jack, with official stops accessible by land or sea, ending at The Point Restaurant and Tiki Bar. Points will be tallied at the last stop and prizes awarded to the top five winners! Joyland, 8341 Lockwood Ridge Rd, Sarasota, FL  July 1, 2023 participate by boat, motorcycle or car in the “Waves & Wheels” Fun Run! The Run will start at Marina Jack, 2 Marina Plaza, Sarasota, FL., and will stop at participating locations accessible by land or sea. Each registered participant will can earn points by visiting the participating locations. At the last stop, your points will be tallied and the top five winners will receive a prize!
