Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night from May 25 through September 2, we are rocking out to some of your favorite artists in the Planetarium! but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short

June 6 - 7, 2023: One of the Annual Summer Events in Sarasota: The Kids Summer Beach Runs are 1-mile beach runs held every Tuesday (June 6 - July 25, 2023) at Siesta Beach on Siesta Key near the pavilion, and every Wednesday (June 7- July 26, 2023) at Brohard Beach (1600 Harbor Drive) next to the Venice Fishing Pier, near Fins at Sharky's, Venice. This one-mile fun run for kids is a summer favorite and a great opportunity for families to exercise together and have fun at the beach! Weekly registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with race time at 6:30 p.m. Kids receive a participation ribbon at each run. Complete four runs and earn a free custom t-shirt. No runs the week of July 4th. June 8 - 11, 2023: It's the US Rowing SE Youth National Championships. The championship serves as the premier youth rowing event in the United States with approximately 1,500 athletes competing in more than 350 crews, representing some 150 teams from across the country – all vying for national titles in 18 boat classes. June 16, 2023: It's back! The Van Wezel's Friday Fest is returning this summer! The first Friday Fest will feature Kettle of Fish. Kettle of Fish plays festival music that features blues, soul, and funk with the energy of rock ‘n roll. They make old songs new again, and their originals sound like classics. Kettle of Fish is one of the hottest live acts in southwest Florida, headlining to thousands, and opening for such acts as Eddie Money, Marshall Tucker, Elvin Bishop, Dickey Betts, and many more.Free admission. Bring blankets or lawn chairs, take in the music and the sunset, and enjoy food and beverage from local vendors. June 18, 2023: Check out Oscar Scherer State Park's Orienteering Event with 3 self guided courses and compasses available for your use. Beginner Course: Simple visual course for young beginners, sunny area. Novice Course: All ages. Simple course, sunny area. Challenging Course: Start times at 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Please arrive early. Ages - 8 and up. Come prepared! The Challenging Course is off- trail, so wear hiking boots, long pants, and a hat. (Orienteering is a group of sports that require navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain whilst moving at speed. June 23 - July 4, 2023: Two of the biggest Sarasota happenings of the year are the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix AND the Suncoast Summer Fest with many of the same events and still benefiting Suncoast Charities for Children! The two events are held annually. The race between million-dollar cigarette boats off one of our finest Gulf of Mexico Beaches, Lido Beach, is one of the must-see Sarasota events of the year, You don't need a ticket for the races and you can come as you are. It's smokin' hot! The Powerboat P1-produced race is set for July 1-2 and is third of eight races in the 2023 American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship Series. June 28, 2023: It's by invitation only, the Friendliest Catch Fishing Tournament for the physically and mentally challenged. This event is limited to clients with special needs who receive services from local non-profit agencies supported by Suncoast Charities for Children, the organizers of the annual Suncoast Summer fest, formerly known as the Offshore Racing Festival. June 30, 2023: The The 39th Annual Sarasota P1 Offshore Powerboat Grand Prix will kick off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening with a Pit Party featuring live music from Andy Velo, live remote radio broadcast, food trucks and local vendors. June 30 - July 1, 2023: One of the events at the newly named Suncoast Summer Fest, formerly known as the Offshore Racing Festival, is The “Waves & Wheels" Party. The next day drive your car, boat, or motorcycle during our Fun Run where you can roll the dice to earn points. The run starts at Marina Jack, with official stops accessible by land or sea, ending at The Point Restaurant and Tiki Bar.
