July 1, 2022: Lakewood Ranch presents Music on Main the first Friday of each month from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m.! Live music, beer, wine and food available. Scarlet Drive will fill the air with upbeat pop, rock, country, and dance music from the 70’s through today’s hit; the deejay will keep you dancing with today’s Top 100 hits. The street is lined with food vendors, beer trucks, and sponsor booths, as well as rides and activities for the kids. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. July 2 - 3, 2022: It's 2 days of offshore racing at the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix. The race between million-dollar cigarette boats off one of our finest Gulf of Mexico Beaches is one of the must-see Sarasota events of the year, but no longer directly a part of the Suncoast Summer Fest. You don't need a ticket for the offshore races and you can come as you are. It's smokin' hot! The Sarasota leg of the Powerboat P1-produced race is the third of eight races in the 2022 American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship Series. July 3, 2022: Sarasota: Nathan Benderson Park’s annual July 3 tradition, NBP Fireworks On The Lake returns in 2022. Enjoy live music, family fun and a stunning fireworks display. Classic American fare and drinks available for purchase. Enjoy a mix of covers from Motown to country to rock from the region’s top bands. Also returning for this year is the Kids Zone, a fun, safe, controlled environment for children to play games and enjoy activities. Runners and walkers alike will enjoy the annual Fireworks 4-Miler On The Lake. The race course winds around the park’s Cooper Creek Lake. July 4, 2022: Celebrate the Fourth of July with The Choral Artists of Sarasota as they present American Fanfare with rousing songs celebrating America including perennial favorites. A patriotic concert full of choral fireworks celebrating America, the American Dream - liberty and justice for all - forms the cornerstone of this annual performance. July 4, 2022: The Sarasota Bayfront Fireworks, organized by Suncoast Charities for Children in partnership with Marina Jack close out the evening celebration around dark. July 5, 2022: Sarasota County is looking for volunteers for the 8th Annual Liberty Litter Cleanup. Volunteers will focuses on area beaches hit hardest by the July 4th celebrations. Cleanup efforts will take place from 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. at Siesta Key, Lido Beach, South Lido Beach, Nokomis Beach, North Jetty Park, Venice Beach and Blind Pass Beach & Park.
The first 100 volunteers to register qualify for FIRST OPTION ACCESS to this year's commemorative Liberty Litter Cleanup T-shirt. July 9, 2022: Check out NBP Rec Day! This is a great opportunity for natural sound and family-friendly imagery on the water. For a small fee, children and their parents and siblings can get out on the water with their choice of our equipment, and switch out at their whim — kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards, a pedal pontoon boat, even a 15-foot sailboat with captain (masks required). $10 per person. $5 per adult with accompanying child. Free for children ages 6 and younger. Family maximum: $35 (for households of five or more) All must complete the waiver form. July 15, 2022: After being canceled for 2 summers because of Covid-19 The Van Wezel's Friday Fest has returned this summer! This Friday Fest will feature Kettle of Fish with the kind of festival music that features blues, soul, and funk with the energy of rock ‘n roll. They make old songs new again, and their originals sound like classics. Kettle of Fish is one of the hottest live acts in southwest Florida. Kettle of Fish is Sarasota Herald-Tribune’s Reader’s Poll winner for “Favorite Band” for 2020, 2018, 2017 and 2016. Free admission. July 18 - 20, 2021: Moved to October for 2022. Check out the 2nd Back to Angola Festival. On the riverfront, you can learn about our region's rich history of Red Bays, Bahamas and the early 1800's community that was known as Angola, near what is now Bradenton Park. Along with live Bahamian music there will also be wood carvers, basket weavers and food vendors selling Bahamian cuisine among others. Hosted by The Oak Tree Community Outreach, the festival is at Manatee Mineral Springs Park in Bradenton. Free admission. July 25 - 26, 2023: One of the Annual Summer Events in Sarasota: The Kids Summer Beach Runs are 1-mile beach runs held every Tuesday (June 6 - July 25, 2023) at Siesta Beach on Siesta Key near the pavilion, and every Wednesday (June 7- July 26, 2023) at Brohard Beach (1600 Harbor Drive) next to the Venice Fishing Pier, near Fins at Sharky's, Venice. This one-mile fun run for kids is a summer favorite and a great opportunity for families to exercise together and have fun at the beach! Weekly registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with race time at 6:30 p.m. Kids receive a participation ribbon at each run. Complete four runs and earn a free custom t-shirt. No runs the week of July 4th.
