July 1, 2023: One of the events at the newly named Suncoast Summer Fest, formerly known as the Offshore Racing Festival, is The “Waves & Wheels" Fun Run! The Run will start at Marina Jack, 2 Marina Plaza, Sarasota, FL., and will stop at participating locations accessible by land or sea. Each registered participant will can earn points by visiting the participating locations. Official Stops Include: Adrenaline Harley-Davidson, Hot Sands Oasis Tiki Bar And Grill, Marina Jack, Stragglers Bar, Tarpon Point Grill & Marina, The Bridge Tender Dockside Bar, The Old Salty Dog (City Island), The Point.  At the last stop, your points will be tallied and the top five winners will receive a prize! Registration is from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. 

July 1, 2023: The Ringling Museum presents their Summer Circus Spectacular. It's presented in collaboration with The Circus Arts Conservatory of Sarasota. The Summer Circus Spectacular highlights some of the finest circus acts from around the world .Show times are 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturdays. July 1 - 2, 2023:  It's 2 days of offshore racing at the 39th Annual Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix. P1 Offshore and the high-speed Class 1 boats all in action off of sparkling Lido Key Beach. The race between million-dollar cigarette boats off one of our finest Gulf of Mexico Beaches is one of the must-see Sarasota events of the year, but no longer directly a part of the Suncoast Summer Fest. You don't need a ticket for the offshore races and you can come as you are. It's smokin' hot! The Sarasota leg of  the Powerboat P1-produced race is the third of several races in the 2023 American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship Series. July 1 - 3, 2023: Celebrate Independence Day weekend at the Suncoast's Largest Food Truck Festival! Street Food Heaven with dozens and dozens of food vendors, chefs, and restaurants showing off their culinary delights and then FIREWORKS on Monday! Over 70 different food vendors with a huge variety of flavors and tastes. Free admission and parking. Saturday 2 p.m. - 7 p.m., Sunday 12  p.m. - 6 p.m., Monday 3 p.m. - 9 p.m. General Admission: Adults $5 at the gate, under 18 free. July 2, 2023: The First Baptist Church of Venice invites you to a beach service celebration to celebrate July 4th as One Nation Under God. It will take place at North Jetty Park, Nokomis Beach, July 2, 2023. You are invited to attend to join in celebrating God and Country. July 2, 2023: Due to environmental concerns they will not be doing a fireworks display this for 2023. It's fireworks at the beach at the Sandbar. Bring your family and friends to Sandbar Seafood & Spirits on July 2 for a Sparkling Good Time! The Sandbar is offering a special VIP dinner and fireworks show package. July 3, 2023: As All-American as it gets: Baseball and fireworks! Take in the Marauder's Baseball game along with Fireworks after the game at LECOM Field.  Game time at 6:30 p.m. against the Lakeland Threshers and a post-game fireworks show and free t-shirts for the first 1,500 fans. July 4, 2023: Check out the annual Myakka River Kayak Festival with kayaking, live music and craft beers. Canoe & kayaks rentals will be available beginning at 9 a.m. If you have your own canoe or kayak, feel free to bring it along. Participation certificates will be awarded! July 4, 2023: Celebrate the Fourth of July with The Choral Artists of Sarasota as they present American Fanfare with rousing songs celebrating America including perennial favorites. A patriotic concert full of choral fireworks celebrating America, the American Dream - liberty and justice for all - forms the cornerstone of this annual performance. July 4, 2023: Have a Grand Old Time and Celebrate America’s Independence Day, The Fourth of July! The Sarasota Suncoast puts on as festive an occasion as anywhere else. During the long holiday weekend there are events and fireworks displays up and down the coast, from beach to shining beach! All fireworks displays start around dusk, of course, and all can be viewed by land as well as some by sea. (Please note: schedules may change and weather conditions may force cancellation of events.) July 4, 2023: The Sarasota Bayfront Fireworks, organized by Suncoast Charities for Children in partnership with Marina Jack close out the evening celebration around dark. Like most fireworks displays it starts at around 9 pm or close to sun down. July 5, 2023:  Sarasota County is looking for volunteers for the 9th Annual Liberty Litter Cleanup. Volunteers will focuses on area beaches hit hardest by the July 4th celebrations. Cleanup efforts will take place from 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. at Siesta Key, Lido Beach, South Lido Beach, Nokomis Beach, North Jetty Park, Venice Beach and Blind Pass Beach & Park. Here's important information about registration:

  • All volunteers must register to participate by submitting an individual registration form.
  • If you are part of a group, be sure to note the name of your volunteer group on the registration form and encourage all of your volunteers to register at the same time to secure their volunteer spot at the preferred location.
  • Walk-up volunteers will not be accepted on the day of the event.

The first 100 volunteers to register qualify for FIRST OPTION ACCESS to this year's commemorative Liberty Litter Cleanup T-shirt. July 6 - 8, 2023: Break out the big hair and acid-washed denim, Laser Light Nights are back at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature! Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night from May 25 through September 2, we are rocking out to some of your favorite artists in the Planetarium! A variety of food options and drinks are available for purchase onsite with cash or card. Tickets for shows between May 25 and July 15 will go on sale at 12:00 PM EST on May 1, 2023. July 7, 2023: Lakewood Ranch presents Music on Main the first Friday of each month from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. Big Night Out will fill the air with Latin, R&B, and Island Dance music and the event will benefit the Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota County, Inc. Beer, wine and food available. The street is lined with food vendors, beer trucks, and sponsor booths, as well as rides and activities for the kids. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. Overflow parking is available at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. Lakewood Ranch is off University Parkway east of I-75. July 8, 2023:It's the 3rd annual Celtic Summer Jam at the Freckled Fin Irish Pub on Anna Maria Island Florida from noon - 10 p.m.! This year's band lineup: The Muckers from Atlanta Ga., Mac Tier from St Petersburg Fl., and Clover's Revenge from Sarasota Fl. July 8, 2023: It's the Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis club's 4th Annual Cornhole & Cocktails Festival. Cornhole & Cocktails Festival will have a fun indoor cornhole tournament, music, food, drinks and raffles. There will be restaurants with samples of their food and cocktails along with breweries, wineries and distilleries with samples of their selections! Guests are invited to enter the Veterans Hall located in Palmetto, FL and try as many different food and drink items they wish! MVP Sports and Social Club will be hosting the cornhole tournament for the FUNdraising Festival! All you need to do is sign-up with Chris when you arrive at the event. This one-mile fun run for kids is a summer favorite and a great opportunity for families to exercise together and have fun at the beach! Weekly registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with race time at 6:30 p.m. Kids receive a participation ribbon at each run. Complete four runs and earn a free custom t-shirt. No runs the week of July 4th. July 20 - 21, 2024: You're invited to Repticon Bradenton 2024, a two-day expo highlighting reptile shows, events, activities and sales. You'll have a chance to see live reptiles from around the world plus the chance to purchase pets and supplies direct from experts. July 20 - 22, 2023: The Florida Studio Theater presents the return of the Sarasota Improv Festival after a few year break due to COVID. The 3 night fest will feature headliner British Comedian MC Hamersmith plus the British Improv Troupe "2 Man No Show." The premier festival of its kind in the southeastern United States, the Sarasota Improv Festival brings together top improvisers from across the country and around the world for one whirlwind weekend of spontaneous comedy. July 21, 2023: It's back! The Van Wezel's Friday Fest has returned this summer! This Friday Fest will feature "One Night Rodeo," an American contemporary country band. Thirteen years and over 2,000 performances in their career has prepared One Night Rodeo for their own launch into Country music stardom. Opening for superstars such as Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban and Montgomery Gentry is nothing new to this group of seasoned musicians who worked long and hard to get here. Free admission. Bring blankets or lawn chairs, take in the music and the sunset, and enjoy food and beverage from local vendors. July 30 - 31, 2024: One of the Annual Summer Events in Sarasota: The Kids Summer Beach Runs are 1-mile beach runs held every Tuesday (June 4 - July 30, 2024) at Siesta Beach on Siesta Key near the pavilion, and every Wednesday (June 5 - July 31, 2024) at Brohard Beach (1600 Harbor Drive) next to the Venice Fishing Pier, near Fins at Sharky's, Venice. This one-mile fun run for kids is a summer favorite and a great opportunity for families to exercise together and have fun at the beach! Weekly registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with race time at 6:30 p.m. Kids receive a participation ribbon at each run. Complete four runs and earn a free custom t-shirt. No runs the week of July 4th.
