February 1, 2026: It's the Temple Sinai's 18th Annual Sarasota Jewish Food Festival where you can enjoy a wide range of traditional Jewish food. Food lovers will indulge in mouthwatering dishes such as tender corned beef and pastrami from the famous Carnegie Deli, fresh bagels with cream cheese, savory kugel, crispy blintzes, comforting matzo ball soup, stuffed cabbage, and much more. February 1, 2026: It's the Sarasota Open Air Fine Art Show. This quality juried fine art and fine craft show bring artists with all disciplines to sell their original and personally handmade art. February 1, 2026: Enjoy Sarasota's own Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Team and their 1st Sunday afternoon show of the new season at 2 p.m. at Ski-A-Ree Stadium. This free show takes place at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (near/behind Mote Marine Aquarium on the water.) 2 p.m. 941-388-1666.

February 1, 2025: TBA for 2026. Check out some heavenly bodies during Sidewalk Astronomy courtesy of the local group of Deep Sky Observers. Telescopes will be up and available for public viewing from 6:25 p.m. - 10 p.m. (weather permitting). Celery Fields, 6893 Palmer Boulevard, Sarasota, FL. If you are attending this event as a member of the public, parking will be available in the large lot just WEST of the Nature Center building. The telescopes will be set up in the small parking lot on the east side of the Nature Center.

February 1 - 8, 2026:  More cotton candy fun! It's the 37th annual Charlotte County Fair with live entertainment, family fun and that good old fashioned fair food! The Charlotte County Fair,  2333 El Jobean Rd, Port Charlotte, FL.

February 1 - 8, 2026: Join Crowley Museum & Nature Center for their Myakka River Rendezvous for another trip back in history. See living history demonstrations, blacksmithing, black powder demonstrations and archery along with old time games and food vendors. February 1 - 21, 2026: The 37th annual Gulf Coast Games for Life (Senior Games) are open to amateur athletes 50 and older as of Dec. 31, 2026 and are a local qualifying senior games for the Florida Senior Games, to be held in December 2026. A one-time registration fee of $13 entitles each participant to a T-shirt. There is an additional $4 fee for each event (including your first event). Additional facility fee will be charged onsite for the following events: Bowling, Golf, and Pickleball. Also, the 5K Road Race has an additional fee payable at the time of registration. All refunds may be subject to a $25 administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after each event registration deadline. Exception: refunds will be issued if an event is canceled by Gulf Coast Games for Life official. February 1 - March 15, 2026: Fox Lea Farm is hosting the 11th Annual "Show Jumping Under the Stars" Grand Prix series during the Venice Equestrian Tour Winter Horse Show Series offering over $1,000,000 of prize money. Friday Double Feature - 3:30PM $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby & 7:000PM $24,999 Grand Prix Under The Lights. VIP Tables are available. Gates open at 2:30pm, first horse on course at 3:30pm for the National Hunter Derby & first horse on course at 7:00pm for the Grand Prix. Show Jumping is an Olympic Sport requiring extraordinary athleticism from both horse and rider. A Hunter Derby is a two-round horse jumping competition. February 1 - April 19, 2026:  Sarasota's Bayfront Park has been the backdrop for Embracing Our Differences' colorful, larger-than-life canvases integrating powerful imagery and thought-provoking messages celebrating diversity. February 5 - 16, 2026: The Florida State Fair takes place and gates open daily. The fairgrounds are at 4800 U.S. 301N. Tampa. You can also get there via I-75. February 6, 2026: Get your toes tappin' at Jazz at Two! The Jazz Club is delighted to again present Anne and Mark Burnell. The talented duo have been favorites around the Chicago area and the midwest for over 25 years. Founding members of ChicagoCabaret.org, they have toured Amsterdam, Paris, New York, and Panama performing music from the great composers of the American Songbook. February 7, 2026: The 15th Annual Superhero 5K & Fun Run will be held at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota. The start/finish line will be ON THE ISLAND near the rowing finish tower! This is a Foster Care Awareness Event. In-person and virtual racing options are available. The Kids' Fun Run starts at 8:30 a.m.. The 5K will be on a CHIP START between 9 - 9:10 a.m.. You will receive an official chip time and place. Master and Overall timed at gun time 9 a.m. USATF Rules. More than just a race, the Superhero race brings together child welfare agencies and the community to highlight the approximately 700 youth who are in local foster care in Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto Counties, while providing a family-friendly event with music, a kiddie zone, food, and giveaways. They believe that kids in foster care and those who care for them are some of our community's most incredible heroes, which is the reason we have chosen a superhero theme. February 7 - 8, 2026: The Venice Area Orchid Society presents their 59th  annual show and sale, "Red, White & Bloom." Sixteen (16) vendors will have 1000's of blooming orchid plants for sale as well as orchid floral arrangements, artwork, jewelry, accessories and supplies. Free orchid culture classes will be held both days. The show is one of the most popular orchid shows in Florida and comes just before Valentine's Day. February 14 - 15, 2026: It's the 44th Annual Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival and it is held in the historic fishing village of Cortez, Florida.  It celebrates the rich heritage of the area's commercial fishing industry and features two days of marine life exhibits, seafood, events for kids and live music. It runs from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. February 14 - 21, 2026: It's the start of the annual Florida Cracker Trail Ride. The week-long Florida historical re-enactment horseback ride will begin at the Manatee Village Historic Park and ride East on 64 to Morgan Johnson Road. February 20 - 21, 2026: Water sports is the order of the day at the annual  Bradenton Area River Regatta on the Manatee River just east of the Green Bridge. Watch the boat races from either the Bradenton or Palmetto river fronts or on the bridge itself. It's a free event featuring Formula 2 powerboat racing.
