February 1 - 2, 2020: TBA for 2022. The 11th Annual Sarasota Masters Art Festival features 50 or more of the nations' finest artists with their one of a kind works in categories including oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, sculpture, ceramics, fine jewelry and blown glass. February 1 - 6, 2022: It's the 33rd Annual Gulf Coast Games for Life. This multi-sport event program is for adults 50 and over. Events take place in Sarasota County, Manatee County and the City of North Port. There are16 events: 5K Road Race, Bag Toss (Corn Hole), Basketball Shooting, Bocce Ball, Bowling, Cycling, Golf, Pickleball, Race Walk/Power Walk, Racquetball, Rowing an Paddle, Shuffleboard, Swimming, Table Tennis, Target Shooting, Track and Field. February 1 - 6, 2022: More cotton candy fun! It's the 33rd annual Charlotte County Fair with live entertainment, family fun and that good old fashioned fair food! The Charlotte County Fair,  2333 El Jobean Rd, Port Charlotte, FL.

February 1- 18, 2022: The Pittsburgh Pirates are accepting auditions for the American and Canadian National Anthems.  Anyone interested in singing The Star Spangled Banner or O Canada prior to a Pirates Spring Training game in 2022 may submit a video    or a YouTube link to be considered. Prospective singers must feel comfortable performing in front of a camera and performing in front of audiences of 7,000 people or more. Submissions are also open to choirs.All submissions must be conducted a cappella. Videos  or links  must be submitted to Rebekah Rivette, Manager of Marketing & Game Presentation via email to  rebekah.rivette@pirates.com. February Sarasota Events

February 2, 2022: It's a free concert with live music with the Gentlemen of Jazz, which recreates the New Orleans Preservation Hall style of jazz. Enjoy the tunes from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. This free concert take place every Wednesday through April 6, 2022 in Centennial Park's Gazebo in downtown Venice, FL.

February 2, 2020: The Sarasota Half Marathon will be back in 2023. Run for a song and rock your way along! The 5th Annual  Sarasota Music Half Marathon will be a 10K and new 5K courses that will start and end at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center parking lot and will wind its way through Selby Gardens, up Orange Avenue into the Cherokee Park neighborhood, back through Selby Gardens and finish back at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. There will also be 20 bands along with cheerleaders, lawn parties, crowds and energy and after party. Starts at 6:30 a.m. Sarasota, FL.

February 3, 2022: Check out Ringling Underground with local and regional live music in the museum courtyard while up and coming artists showcase their works also in the museum courtyard. 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. Admission: $15. February 3 - March 31, 2022: The Brown Bag Concert series begins the first Thursday in February and continues to the last Thursday in March. Adding new local musicians. Bring your lawn chair and lunch, relax and enjoy wonderful music in a delightful park setting. Noon - 1 p.m. Free admission and Free parking. Sarasota Pet Fest

February:  On indefinite hiatus, this event may return at a later date, according to organizers. Celebration of Pets Fest at the Sarasota Fairgrounds. There will be pet adoptions; cats/kittens – puppies/dogs. Fun for the whole family including a wiener dog derby and live music. Free parking, admission $5 for adults. Kids 6 & under & leashed pets are free and welcome. February 4, 2022: The Friday Jazz at Two Concert Series returns with The Eddie Tobin Trio with Claus Schreiber. Sarasota favorite Eddie Tobin, piano & vocals, and trio are joined by a special guest Claus Schreiber. Enjoy Claus singing music from the great American Songbook. Admission at the door, $10 - $20. February 4, 2020: TBA for 2022. It's the 17th Annual Anna Maria Jazz Fest. The Gulf Drive Duo will perform along with Koko Ray and Matt Coates. Koko is an outstanding vocalist and plays two saxes at the same time! He has been a Jazz Fest guest performer for many years and always presents a first-class performance. Local vocalist Matt Coates returns and will play a full variety of music from the 1940s to 2000s. February 4, 2022: Dance along to the Music on Main at Lakewood Ranch featuring Goodby Eddie - Classic/Modern Rock, R&B and Country. Benefiting The Players Centre for Performing Arts. Beer, wine and food. Check out the fountain area for a balloon twister, face painting and other fun. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. February 4, 2022: The evening before The 27th Annual Highland Games is “Ceilidh,” a traditional Celtic social gathering, which usually involves playing music, dancing and food! In the entertainment tent Celtic Conundrum, Eireann's Call & Whiskey Dregs will be the bands for the evening.  There will be games, raffles, dancing, and music. There will be vendors selling food and merchandise. This is a family friendly event. There will be beer and wine to purchase and a raffle for prizes. February 5, 2022: Check out NBP Rec Day! This is a great opportunity for natural sound and family-friendly imagery on the water. For a small fee, children and their parents and siblings can get out on the water with their choice of our equipment, and switch out at their whim — kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards, a pedal pontoon boat, even a 15-foot sailboat with captain (masks required). $10 per person. $5 per adult with accompanying child. Free for children ages 6 and younger. Family maximum: $35 (for households of five or more) All must complete the waiver form. February 5, 2022: Young and old are invited to Sarasota Modern Quilt Guild's 8th annual "Airing of the Quilts: Quilt Show and Sale." See not only modern quilts made by talented members of the guild but there will also be quilts and other boutique items for sale along with food trucks offering tasty treats. February 5, 2022: Check out the opening of the Oscar Scherer State park 2022 Concert Under the Stars Season. Rock, roll and reminisce to the music of the area’s favorite band Bandana at the first “Concert Under the Stars” of the 2022 season. It’s all happening in the Concert Meadow at Oscar Scherer State Park. Hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and hot chocolate will be available for purchase at the concert. February 5 - 6, 2022: The Venice Area Orchid Society presents their 53rd annual show and sale. Thousands of blooming orchids will be for sale and on display in 15 artistically designed exhibits. Orchid art, accessories and supplies will also be for sale. Widely regarded as the most popular orchid show on Florida's west coast. February 5 - 6, 2022: It's the Longboat Key Festival of the Arts in Sarasota County. Residents and visitors are invited to stroll this wonder complex amidst life-size sculptures, spectacular paintings, one-of-a-kind jewels, photography, ceramics and more. February 6, 2022: Sarasota's largest and longest running charity event, Giving Hunger the Blues, benefits the Mayors Feed the Hungry Program and will be staged at Nathan Benderson Park. Featuring Headliners Selwyn Birchwood and Albert Castiglia plus Ariella, Big Night Out, Bird Tribe, Fogt's All Stars, Jeremy Carter Quartet, Frankie Pineiro and Cole Hazlitt Quintet. February 7, 2022: Come out for Ringling by the Bay featuring live music and dancing with Vertigo on the Bolger Campiello. Food and drinks available for purchase. 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Tickets will be available approx. one month prior to each event, and will include a 24 hour pre-sale period for members. Members please note: $10 tickets are limited to one for Individual Memberships and two for all other Membership levels. Additionally, members may purchase up to four additional tickets at full price ($20) during the pre-sale period. Tickets are limited and will be available on a first come-first serve basis. It's the Tampa Bay Rays Fan Fest with autographs and photo opportunities on the field, clubhouse tours and numerous other fan fest special attractions from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Free admission and free parking in lots 6 & 7. All attendees 18 years and older must individually obtain an admission ticket to attend. Children 17 and under do not need a ticket. February 9 - 12, 2022: Quilts, quilts & more quilts are the highlights of the Palm Grove Amish Quilt & Craft Show. See beautiful quilts of all sizes (mostly Amish made) and a variety of handmade crafts for sale and watch quilters at work. You can surely find one you'll like. $3 admission donation for charity. February 9 - May 11, 2022: Enjoy the Bayfront Gardens at The Ringling for Acoustic Sunsets with a solo musician on Ca' d'Zan Terrace! This event will feature a solo or duo musical group performing acoustic music as the sun sets on beautiful Sarasota Bay. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Tables will be set up on the terrace to allow for social distancing. 5:30 p.m. $10 Members. Tickets will be available 30 days prior to each event. In the case that there are tickets still available one week prior to each event, members will be able to purchase up to 4 guest tickets for $15 each. February 10 - 21, 2022: The Florida State Fair takes place and gates open daily. The fairgrounds are at 4800 U.S. 301N. Tampa. You can also get there via I-75. (From I-75 N, take exit 261 to merge onto I-4 W toward Tampa. Take exit 7 to merge onto FL-600 W/E Hillsborough Ave/US-92 W toward US-301 W/Busch Gardens. Take the ramp to Riverview, Merge onto FL-41 S/FL-43 S/US-301 S. Continue to follow FL-43 S/US-301 S - fairgrounds will be on the right).  I've gotten there in about 75 minutes from Sarasota. February 11, 2022: The Friday Jazz at Two Concert Series returns with the Sarasota Jazz Project Big Band. One of the best big bands in the bay area, the Sarasota Jazz Project is led by co-founder George McLain. The musicians boast long resumes and careers in performing with top name bands and well known jazz musicians. They play a blend of popular jazz standards and music from the American Songbook, presented in current new arrangements and styles. Admission at the door, $10 - $20. February 11, 2022: It's Free Music Friday Night Concert Series with live music at Centennial Park. The music of Kit M. Jones takes place at the Gazebo in the park.  Attendees are asked to follow current CDC guidelines. Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs and blankets. February 11 - 12, 2022:  It's SHELLABRATION time! The Sarasota Shell Club presents its 58th Annual Shell Show! Whether a serious shell lover or seeking a new shell idea, the Sarasota Shell Show is one of the largest shell shows in the world and the perfect place for new creative ideas for you! Beautiful shell crafts and rare shell exhibits are displayed from around the world. February 11 - March 6, 2022:  Ladies & Gentleman, Boys & Girls....It's Circus Sarasota with another season of Big Top Performances. Previous headliners have included comic daredevil, Sarasota's own international star, Bello Nock and Sarasota's high wire artist, Nik Wallenda. Every year features a new cast in an intimate one-ring European style Big Top. The Ulla Searing Big Top moves from the NBP north lakes area to Regatta Island at Nathan Benderson Park. February 12, 2022: Water sports is the order of the day at the annual  Bradenton Area River Regatta on the Manatee River just east of the Green Bridge. Watch the boat races from either the Bradenton or Palmetto river fronts or on the bridge itself. It's a free event featuring Formula 2 powerboat racing. In prior years before last year's canceled event due to the coronavirus outbreak, the daylong fest also featured live music on two stages in both Bradenton and Palmetto featuring the group "almost ABBA", Andy Pursell band, Soul Circus Cowboys, a food fest, kid zone, stunt dogs, and more plus a fireworks finale over the river choreographed to music and much more including an evening 5K run to finish under the fireworks!  More than 120,000 spectators attended the last event in 2020. February 19, 2022: It's the start of the annual Florida Cracker Trail Ride. The week-long Florida historical re-enactment horse back ride will begin near the Manatee Village Historic Park and ride East on 64 to Morgan Johnson Road. The ride  takes place from February 19 - 26.  A few of the Cracker Trail riders will be departing from near the Manatee historical village Saturday Feb 19 apx 9:30 a.m. riding east on SR 64 to Morgan Johnson. Official ride out is Sunday 9 a.m. the 20th from Kibler Ranch (now Falkner) in east Manatee County. February 19, 2022: State College of Florida Foundation will host the seventh edition of Avenues to the Future! This year’s event promises to be the best yet, with a delicious surf-and-turf dinner from Pier 22 Restaurant and the musical stylings of the DeLeon Band heating up the dance floor. In addition to the DeLeon Band, guests will be entertained by the SCF Presidential String Quartet. February 19 - 20, 2022: It's the 40th Annual Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival and it is held in the historic fishing village of Cortez, Florida.  It celebrates the rich heritage of the area's commercial fishing industry and features two days of marine life exhibits, seafood, events for kids and live music. Be sure to visit the waterfront docks for: Fishing For Freedom - Demonstration and interactive displays and "Dock Talks" - by Florida Sea Grant representatives. February 26, 2022: It's the 6th annual OsFest Reggae Music Block Party to honor the late great musician Oswald Caines of Democracy Reggae Band. There will be plenty of food, drinks, more live bands, and DJs, Kid activities, raffles and much more. You can also listen to a live Band and DJs inside The Gator Club. This is a Reggae Music Takeover. The past few years there has been over 5,000 attendees throughout the day. February 27, 2022: Canceled for 2022. The Rubonia Mardi Gras Parade returns for another year with the traditional Mardi Gras style parade in this small Manatee County town. The parade is scheduled to step off at 12 noon just north of the I-275 overpass at Bayshore Rd and 79th Street East. Bring a lawn chair to view the parade from plus there are numerous front yard vendors selling seafood and BBQ on the streets that run off of Bayshore Road. After parade festivities until 6 p.m. include food vendors, entertainment and more at the Rubonia Community Center where Musical/Entertainment guests include: T&L Characters, AJ & the Automatics, and The Beat Down Band. 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. Rubonia Community Center is at 1309 72nd Street, East, Rubonia, FL. Taking place at the Art Ovation Hotel in Sarasota, doors will open at 10:30 a.m. for signature cocktails, interactive experiences, and premium shopping at pop-up boutiques from a curated collection of retailers. Around noon, guests will sit down for a delicious lunch and live entertainment. The fashion show of previous years has been replaced with a dynamic, artsy, and sizzlin' hot main event that's sure to be a crowd pleaser. Along the way, there will be a premium raffle, one-of-a-kind art, and adorable animals to pet, snuggle, and maybe even adopt. Afterwards, we'll head to the rooftop bar to keep the party going.Tickets: $200 each.
